Default Agar Aura - Layali, Borneo Symphony, Bhavana

Layali was an interesting experience. I over applied for sure and will try again with only one drop on the wrist. I did a drop on each wrist and on one arm and it was too much something. I struggled all day for the rose to break through but had no luck. It was woodsy and like incense but not pleasant for me or my wife.

I tried one drop of Borneo Symphony today and liked it a lot better but SWMBO didn't at all. The woodsiness was great but I prob won't wear frequently. One thing is that it lasts! I did a light swipe on my wrist area at around 9am and I can still smell it 14 hours later! In fact it smells better than it has all day!

They included a free sample of Bhavana so I'll be trying on Monday.

My experience with Layali was similar until I inadvertently wore it outdoors under some heightened physical activity in the sun, during which my body heat must have pushed it into another level that brought out a beautiful jammy rose over a serene woody oud. It was the exact opposite of how it started (horsey and floral but nothing to get excited about). Should be a good summer experience.

Hmmm...I'll have to try it again this Summer then!

Trying the Borneo Symphony today...very light application as it's my first time with an oud. No impressions yet and not sure my opinion should mean anything since I'm so new to this and a fan of natural scents anyway. The intense woodsiness suits me to a tee but may not be for everyone.

I've found ouds to be a fantastic coming-home fragrance. I wear something to the office and when I get home a little dab of oud and a scotch are my daily Mr. Rogers ritual. I kiss my wife, hug my kids, change into something more comfortable, put a dab of oud on the back of my wrist, and fill a glass with ice and scotch. Perfect. On rare occasions I wear them out but typically I find them to be better for inducing a relaxed almost meditative vehicle.

Thanks, Chandos. That's certainly my attitude toward others, but want to be careful not to come off as thinking I know more than I do.

About 6 hours into the Borneo Symphony and the scent is still persistent (off of less than half a drop) but can now pick up "greener" scents. It's not balsa/poplar, but close to that underneath the dominant hardwood. I can see the attraction of these oils over conventional colognes.

It's been about 13 hours since I applied a tiny, tiny amount of Borneo Symphony Oud from Agar Aura and the scent finally is gone. One interesting note. At about the 10 hour mark, it seemed to shift into a very strong smoky wood charcoal scent. Imagine the scent coming from a burned lump of wood not totally consumed but blackened nearly through and through and that was the scent at the end. It might have been there earlier, but it went undetected by me.
