I don't think I've seen the smaller version. That's a 32mm shown in the pic, and I could another brush in with it. If there's a larger one, you could probably take a bath while shaving.

MamaBear only got the small ones. So Im pretty sure thats the Small.

There are some pictures in her thread over in the Shopping forum that show the difference between the small and large. The small is wider than the large but more shallow, and the large is taller but has a smaller diameter. Personally I like the look of the small, I think.

Angar's scuttles are absolutely superb. The craftsmanship is phenomenal.
The only draw back is the price of shipping from Germany. The scuttle is substantial.

I also purchased a scuttle from Ansgar. The scuttle is top shelf. I had no idea that Angar made different sizes.

What is hot cream?
They work with soap and cream alike, so that is not the criteria. Brush size might be. Because the L-scuttle is deeper it is better suited for medium sized and large brushes. The S-version is better for smaller and medium sizes.
Let me correct one thing, though. Both have the same diameter, it is the depth of the lather compartment that makes it seem different.
Unfortunately, Mama Bear does not have them on stock at the moment, and unfortunately, too, shipment costs for single scuttles are outrageous. But I will try to make them available in the US again. Until then, the only reasonable solution would be a group buy.

You mean which one is better at keeping the lather hot? Theoretically, that would be the L-version, its hollow inside is slightly bigger and can take a bit more hot water. Practically, they both work.
