. . . He went around back and into the basement because he was hungry. He ate cold beans out of a can and drank some water, and then he saw the small mirror Parker had bought with the razor and the can of lather. He looked at himself and knew he had to take a chance on staying long enough to shave. He shaved, and that made him feel better. . .
Eshave does look interesting. I've been thinking about picking up one of their brushes for a while maybe I'll grab a cream while I'm at it.Eshave has a great almond scent and is one product that I never read about on this site.
I have tried eshave, it is good. I have Cella and TOBS, TOBS is my go to for an almond kick. I am planning on trying GFT when my TOBS runs out.

ToBS is my favorite since the demise of C&E Sweet Almond Oil.

OK. A cheaper alternative that I find very nice. Royal Shave had it on sale and I ended up cashing in some bonus points - got four shipped for a song.
Figaro Crema de Barba Almond
I find the Italian (and Italian-style) cream soaps to be pretty similar with their almond smells. Most tend toward that sweet marzipan or cherry-almond scent or even Amaretto. P160, Cella, RazoRock Classic and Limited Edition, and Vitos Red... they differ mostly in quantity of scent rather than quality, with RazoRock Classic or P160 being most intense and Vitos easily being weakest.
The English and North American almond creams seem to me to be a little drier, like roasted almonds. TOBS, GFT, D.R. Harris, T&H, Salter, Conk, eShave... while they are certainly not all the same, I'd be more inclined to group them together away from the Italians based on their almond scent profiles.
Crabtree & Evelyn, then everything else. Too bad they quit making it, sadistic meat heads!
Order placed for a tub of Acca Kappa 1869. Threw in a Semogue 620 & 830 to round out a nice little order. Next week will be a good week for the shave den!

Nice! Those Italian soaps go perfectly with the boar brushes. Enjoy!

Love my TOBS Almond
Maybe the better question would have been "Name the almond shave creams you don't like." Just about every one I've ever heard of has been offered as 'Best'.
As far as the actually quality of the lather is concerned, I like D R Harris Almond, but I find its almond/cherry scent too sweet.
Is there a difference with the AK1869 in the tub and the tube other than the tube seems to be more $ for less product?
I have only used TOBS.Love it!
Acca Kappa 1869 also.
I like almond products but have only tried TOBS and T&H creams and find that they are both excellent performers. I know some consider Cella as a hard cream or soft soap and whichever way you categorize it, it is an excellent performer as well.
