Tried it today for a normal two wtg pass shave. LOVED IT! No face redness or irritation and it yielded an excellent shave. Love the scent and the feel! Its a keeper.

I am 100% new to DE shaving and I tried this cream yesterday (my first ever cream so I have nothing to compare it to except goo out of a can).

To be honest I dont like it. I will keep using it at least until I order another cream or soap to try. Give myself time to improve my lather etc...

    BUT

What I dont like is the smell... yes its nice but its so overpowering, and it lasts forever! I shaved last night, showered this morning and I can still smell it occasionally, its making me feel sick.

The smell is just too artificial.

I am now on the look out for sensitive / low fragrance creams and soaps. About to order Edwin Jagger Aloe Soap.

I'm glad someone else feels the same as me. "nice but overpowering", "artificial" pretty much sums it up. I would add one note and harsh.

I've never used the cream, but I have the soap, aftershave and cologne. I'm actually a pretty big fan of TOBS's rendition of Sandalwood (though most who are highly familiar with traditional Sandalwood state that this really isn't close). I get a woods/powdery scent from it that I find quite nice (I'm usually not a fan of powder...i.e. clubman). TOBS Sandalwood does seem to be a bit polarizing scent-wise around here.

Hmmm. I thinking I'm going to have to try to get a sample or tub of the TOBS Sandalwood and pit it against my T&H Sandalwood. I wonder what the outcome of that would be?

Just curious... is the balm or AS in this fragrance any good?
Wishing I was back on the AT.

If you want, I'll put a big blob of the stuff (TOBS Sandalwood) into a freezer bag and ship it to you. You can report back the results. PM me if you're interested.

I really liked a sample of T&H sandalwood I used, the TOBS not so much...a little too overpowering in my opinion. The performance is really good, the scent just tends to stick around a little too long after my shave. YMMV and I'll give it another shot down the road to see if my opinion changes.
