    Default Which RazoRock Artisan Soap?

I want to try one, not all of them, just one.....maybe two if you can convince me. I am not worried about the performance as much as the scent. I understand scent is very much a YMMV thing, but maybe you can steer me towards a choice based on what I like and don't like

Here is my current soap rotation. All of them I consider great for performance, so
    1. Tabac - This scent is all that is man
    2. MdC - smells like an Aveda store to me
    3. RazoRock XXX - this one I like, but borderline too much citrus
    4. TOBS Jermyn St - favorite scent, no idea how to describe it

These are others I have tried and don't care for

Cella - way too sweet, smells like maraschino cherry
Akro - Pez candy mixed with urinal cakes
T&H Ultimate - pretty floral/powdery, not intolerable, but not great
Institute Karite - same as T&H, too powdery
DR Harris Arlington - scent is ok, but a little too much citrus
DR Marlborough - liked it, just pretty mild, kinda meh....
AOS sandalwood cream - also meh...
Irisch Moos - I did like the scent, but it didn't agree with my skin
Menthol also does not agree with my skin

So what would you suggest? Please keep it to one or two at most. If you could try to describe the scent or maybe compare it to something it would be appreciated. I know fragrance is very subjective, but at $10 a tub, I won't be out a fortune if it doesn't work out.

Not real big on citrus. I do like the XXX, but it's like traditional barbershop with a hint of fruity.

I gotcha. It's the only artisan I own, but the Fresco is awesome and cheap.

    Is the fresco minty?

Mmmm.... I would say it is very similar to XXX, but a little.... spicier? I guess there may be a little mint in there, but it is not readily apparent.

For $4 I will probably give it a shot, but I still want to try one of the artisan ones too

I have the Third Eye (Sandalwood). It's a nice, warm, mellow scent. Not a tradition sandalwood it seems, but I greatly enjoy it.

The Chianti Lavender is spectacular. It's one of my favorite smells ever, bar none. I haven't tried any other Razorock soaps, though.

Do you like lavender? It's a fairly hearty smell for a floral. If so, the King Louis is supposed to be very good.

I love the Muguet de France and its counterpart Muguetto di Bologna. Both are scented of Lily of the Valley. A awesome floral scent that I really enjoy. The Bologna has tallow and the France doesn't. For some reason I prefer the Muguet de France but both are awesome IMO.

Napoleon's Violet is very nice, as is Mughetto di Bologna. Subdued, pure florals. My wife favored both of these when sniff-testing 9 soaps/croaps she got me--I picked 'em--for my birthday.
(For reference, the others were RR Chianti Lavender & XXX, Cella, and QCS flavors: Queen Charlotte, Cayman, Rose Otto, and Esquire.)

The only lavender experience I have is with T&H Unlimate comfort soap. It's ok, but not my favorite. Has anyone tried it that could compare to Mughetto di Bologna, King Louis or Chiati Lavender? So far, one of those 3 is what I am leaning towards.

Cochese being that you are not into the Floral scents, and citrus can sometimes be overpowering in many shaving products you might want to try the Palmolive Shave Stick which has just a very clean smell and the Palm oil should not cause problems for your skin like the Irish Moose. I also will suggest one of my favorites and that is the La Toja Shave stick, It has a very unique scent that is not floral. It has just a slight hint of mineral salts and provides a very luxurious lather. I have the Fresco, XXX, and King Louis shaving creams. I think they are all fantastic, but based upon your description of likes and dislike when it comes to scents I feel that all of these would fall into the same catagory as having strong floral, powdery, and citrus scents that you tend to dislike. One more suggestion would be to also try the Speick Shaving stick as it has a nice fragrence that some have described as spicy.

I read on another thread that the King Louis is pretty mild scent and that sounded appealing to me. I guess I shouldn't say I dislike the floral/citrus, I just dont like over-powering scents like that.

I did try a Palmolive stick and it was good too. Just never made it into my rotation with the other heavy hitters I use regularly. I really do want to try a Speick and La Toja too. Just never got around to ordering it. I think I am just going to break down and spend $50 on a few cheap ones like these and a couple of RazoRock's and if they dont work out, PIF's are fine with me.

The King Louis scent is milder when compared to the Chianti Lavender, but it is still a strong scent as with most of the RazoRock shaving creams. In regards to PIF's that is great, but also consider selling or trading the products you don't like on the B/S/T as any of the RazoRock and products I mentioned all seem to go very fast when they are posted.

I actually have a full tub of AOS sandalwood sitting on the shelf I haven't touched since I got it. Perhaps that would be good trade bait to try one or two RazoRocks without forking out more cash. It's not like I don't have anything I like to shave with right now.

I just recently traded a La Toja Shave stick for RazoRock XXX so I am sure you will find pretty quickly someone who is willing to trade.

Mughetto di Bologna is pretty mild and inoffensive but pleasant
