It sure is.... Nothing better for me. ;->

I used a Feather in one of my Tech's, the second Feather I used. The first one was sharp, but stayed sharp for just 4 days. The second Feather, also in a Tech, stayed sharp for a full 7 days. Now I am wonder which one was the anomoly. Or was my techique just off on the first blade.

I get 3 to 4 days out of mine. I might just start tossing them after 3 days to avoid the "bad" 4th day I get about half the time.

I've been wetshaving for four months and have just re-explored the Feather (in a 38C). I was very impressed for the shaves 1-3, today was day for and it was OK (kinda like most other blades). I was surprised it didn't last at least 4 excellent days. Overall though, Feathers might be my new favorite. 2 months ago I liked them, but not as much, they were too harsh -- perhaps my techniques improved.
Tomorrow I'll give a new Feather a try (round 2) in my Slant.

Tried a Feather in my 48 SS this week. (Thanks Pauldog.) I had been an exclusive Israeli Personna blader for the past 18 months, with a few English Wilkinsons thrown in here and there.
Did you know the Feather is sharp?![]()

I definitely hurt myself. But kept at it for 4 days - should have chucked the blade after day 3.
Yesterday tried a Feather in my Blue Tip. For me, definitely a better razor to figure out and explore the Feather.
Compared to the Israeli, the Feather is definitely less forgiving, especially to my rather "hard" style of shaving. But boy is that Feather smooth.

I like the 38C a lot (it may be my favorite, don't know yet). In the Slant, I'm getting too much irritation with the Feathers and the shave's no closer than with the 38C. Today I swapped the blade into my Progress so that I could finish up on a non-aggressive setting. I'll be using the Feathers in my non-slant razors for a while and then maybe try the Slant again in 2 or 3 months (or use a mild blade in the Slant next time).

Everyone is different, of course, but I get tremendous results with a Feather in my Merkur long handle or a fat boy.

I had kinda missed your point in my last reply (got it now). I've used the Feathers in the 38C once or twice before and liked them, thought about buying a bunch, but did get some irritation, so I don't think I like them more specifically because of the 38C, but I do like the combination. Overall, like you, I really like the feel of the 38C. I have a pretty large hand and it feels just right.

I used to get only 3-4 shaves per blades. As my technique has improved so has my ability to use a blade for a minimum 6 shaves. Many times I replace a blade just because I forget when I last did so.I shave 6 out of 7-8 days. At that rate, I won't need to buy blades for another 8.6 years!

I'm not sure. Crystals aren't as smooth as Feathers but I can get at least 6 BBS shaves from each. I suppose the only way I'd really know is if I kept using them until they no longer felt sharp. Before, 3 shaves were enough to "dull" a blade. If I can get 6 shaves and the blades feel sharp enough then better technique has to help on some level.
Has anyone tried them in a Vision? I have a pack that I would like to try but I am hoping to get some feedback from other members first to hear their experiences.
No, but I still say try it. Thing is, this is so subjective that other people's feedback will not help you that much. I know Michael (Liesureguy) prefers Feathers, and is fond of the Vision. I'm sure someone else has tried it, and thought the combination was murder. You really have to try different blades for yourself.
I do use Feathers regularly in my Futur, which is at least a little similar to the Vision, and the combination works very well for me. I have done this with the Futur wide open at 6, so I can promise that using them in one of these relatively aggressive razors /= instant death.

First time I used a Feather, it was in my slant and that combo shredded my face. A couple of months later I tried it in a 38c and wow! It has been my go to combo since.
I just switched to a Feather in my Vision, this evening. I washed twice with Institut Karite shea butter soap. Then I whipped up a great lather with QED Wild Orange soap. I did three passes, concentrating on minimal blade to skin pressure. Finished up with witch hazel as an aftershave lotion.
I am BBS with no irritation. A great shave!

Very nice blade, sharp and smooth, exactly as a blade should be.
They are not nearly as murderous as some people may want you to believe and I have never had problems with Feathers in my Futur or 38C.
I noticed that when they grow older, Feather blades don't seem to tug that much on my stubble, they just become gradually duller. I never experienced the same level of discomfort and uneveness that some other blades display when the time approaches to replace them.
I am a Feather Virgin. I have Feather from my West Coast Shaving samples. I have not worked my up to the Feathers. Ooh, the anticipation of it all. Soon I will break into my Feathers. The question is which razor to use them in.
Slim, Fat boy, Super speed red, HD, or the Slant. Decisions decisions.
