FFDP is definitely on my playlist. Just didn't mention them because they had already been mentioned. Great band though.

Glad to see some others on here with similar music tastes.

If you want real hard rock...

    Nile
    Behemoth
    Hate Eternal
    Between the Buried and Me
    Necrophagist
    Dimmu Borgir
    Black Dahila Murder
    Dying Fetus
    Ensiferum
    Carnal Decay
    Cattle Decapitation
    Amon Amarth
    Kalmah

I can name more as well but that is a good list to start with. They may be a little too hard for your taste. Let me know what you think.

Well, well, well. You've certainly taken things up a notch. Most if that is a little hard, even for my tastes. Between the Buried and Me is a solid addition, though.

I pretty much only listen to really fast music. I like working out to more electronic stuff like dubstep.

Pantera and Sepultura are great, but my most effective pump up music - Carcass.

I just had a listen to some of the bands from your list and you really should check out some early Carcass, especially their first two albums - I'm pretty sure you'll like it.

A couple of bands I've just recently (last few weeks) learned of. I didn't think there would *ever* be another album I'd be purchasing after AC/DC black ice, unless they released another album... Coming from a narrow-minded definition of "music", I hadn't heard a decent new Hard Rock/Heavy Metal group in 15 years, I was pleasantly surprised when I found a couple new rock bands that mix decent rock & a vocalists that can sing.

Yea, I didn't buy the "album" of either of these groups either, as *most* of the songs are ballad-y crap (Hey, I admitted above I'm narrow-minded in my definition of MUSIC vs. background noise vs. inhuman torture... If Hell is real, I'll be forced to listen to top-40, rap, U2 & Ozzy sing post-Rhodes ballads.)

Theory of a Deadman (Lowlife, The Truth Is, Bad Girlfriend, Little Smirk, So Happy, I Hate My Life, Gentleman, Villian)
My Darkest Days (Casual Sex, Porn Star Dancing - Guest guitarist Zakk Wyld (There's an "original" "rock" and a little more "hip-hop" version.), Move Your Body)
(This band - My Darkest Days - is also when I found out that Youtube has an "R-Rated" section that only shows up if you are logged in under an adult account.)
Brian - I think it would be totally inappropriate for me to even contemplate what I am thinking about.

If your heart doesn't get pumping to Led Zeppelin's "In My Time of Dying" you're a dead man

Lots of good, more modern bands mentioned but I don't see Meshuggah on anyone's list. Also some early Metallica, just don't pay for it.

    Pantera
I'm addicted to placebos. I could quit, but it wouldn't matter.
