I like listening to Nine Inch Nails, Die Krupps, and of course NPR.
I could probably load Tabac on a Q-tip and still get a decent lather

OK, for hard rocking dance/workout music, my mind went to an English band from the 90s. I give you Prodigy...

Yea man, got to love Nightwish. I like the old better than the newer stuff, but I definitely still listen to the newer stuff too. And you cant overlook Epica. I feel like they're more hit and miss, but I prefer them when they hit.

I forgot to add Volbeat to my first post, I've been listening to them a good bit lately. They've got a nice rockabilly element to them. As you can tell, I like a lot of scandinavian metal and rock.

Hellacopters another of my faves that a lot of folks here in the States miss.

I'm going to assume you're talking Hank III metal? I love his country stuff too

These may not qualify as heavy duty hard rock... but...

I would personally have some Tool on my work out play list.

And for some retro, some Mötley Crüe, and Van Halen songs fit the bill as pump up music.

    Just my 2¢...

Haha, I didn't think anyone else still listened to that! Good choice.

My workout music is usually one of the following:

    Avenged Sevenfold
    Atreyu (old Atreyu)
    Powerglove
    Protest the Hero
    Thrice
    Dragonforce

Might be a little harsh on some of your guys' ears, but it's fast-paced and really gets me pumped.

    The crystal method
    deadmous5

    Deftones

So many great bands being listed here (and Creed).

Continuing on the hardcore line, though, is Biohazard. That is one band that will always be in my workout mix.

Breakdown, Last Man Standing, Switchback, Chamber Spins Three and Down For Life are the five that get my pulse up, but hell, they're aggressive and high-tempo, so any track will do.
The problem with Arsenal is that they always try to walk it in!

Mike Patton is an underrated rock genius.

Anyway, has Soulfly been mentioned yet?

Might not be your thing, but Bane and Comeback Kid are two in-your-face bands. "Some Came Running" by Bane is especially energetic. Good to see some Protest the Hero fans here!

No, and neither has Sepultura, on that note.

The Brazilian blastbeats definitely fall into the gym-playlist-appropriate genre of music.
