I was looking at the league settings are we really playing with all these categories?

Batters Stat Categories:Runs (R), Hits (H), Doubles (2B), Triples (3B), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), Walks (BB), Total Bases (TB), Fielding Percentage (FPCT), Batting Average (AVG), On-base + Slugging Percentage (OPS), Net Stolen Bases (NSB)
Pitchers Stat Categories:Innings Pitched (IP), Wins (W), Losses (L), Shutouts (SHO), Walks (BB), Strikeouts (K), Earned Run Average (ERA), (Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched (WHIP), Inherited Runners Scored (IRA), Net Saves (NSV)

Could be fun...but Ive never played with that many categories. Usually 5 pitching and 5 hitting categories.

I think the max amount of teams is 14...we currently have 12.

I like to make the league as realistic as possible- I think all those categories only add to realism. Like you said, most leagues are 5x5 or some even 4x4.

I've had a request for a bit later draft. Any comments?

Later date or later time? Also the season officially starts on the 28th(2 game series in Japan). Just FYI...

The later the better for me when it comes to draft time. Between 8:30PM and 10:30PM EST is ideal for me. Before 8:30 I'll have to autopick. After 10:30 I'll have to drink some coffee. I'd much rather be jittery and make the picks than be calm and have the computer autopick for me. I know you can pre-rank, but autopick teams are never ideal, IMO.

Wow, twelve teams already? There's going to be some stiff competition and a very shallow FA pool...just the way I like it!

I'm cool with all the categories. It's going to be a fun, challenging league.

Anytime works for me on the 29th.

Also may I make a suggestion. Add Holds to the pitching categories. With 14 teams were not all gonna be able to get 3 closers but if we had Holds is an entirely different ballgame. We would be forced to also add the strategy of drafting decent setup men(plus there are 12 hitting and only 10 pitching categories)

I would also vote for a later time. I will be on my way to work @ 7pm EST. Maybe 9pm EST.

Added holds, dropped fielding% to even up hitting/pitching categories.

I like both the later time and addition of holds. Didn't realize we werent scoring holds

That time works for me...May I add one more suggestion:

Maybe get rid of triples...we already have total bases and add the defensive component of Put Outs. Also we could put in field % or errors too if we drop another category like doubles. It would give more value to the players with good defense that arn't necessarily the greatest hitters(like Scott Rolan). Plus for those who watch MLB it gives you something to cheer for when your players are out in the field.

    Just an idea.

So am I correct that the draft is the 29th @ 830 EST? And does anyone know what iPhone app you can use for the draft? I think the monster app I downloaded has a in app purchase where you can do the live draft. I hope at least.

I have the yahoo app, but you bring up a good point as I am not sure if I can draft with it. Hmmm

I found the Fantasy Baseball Draft app. It is made by the same company that makes the Monster app, this is a very good app for managing your team, better than the Yahoo! app IMO. The draft app is $2.99 though, but for someone like me that has to work Thursday night it's a lifesaver and worth $2.99.
