Making my hair different!! for wedding! More Professional how?

Im going to wedding in about 2 months Im 18 years old and would like a more clean cut look More Professional Maybe hair to the side or something the only problem is that my hair is a natural poof as youll see in the first picture The only way ive ever done it is spiked as in the second pic. What can i do to my hair to get a different style?

I agree with Chris. This is be especially effective if you go to the same man/woman every time. He/she will your what will or will not work with your hair. As strange as it sounds, I would suggest bringing a picture or two of what you might want to end up with. It will work much better than trying to describe it in words and the stylist/barber will have a good reference while cutting it.

it looks like they use clippers on your head when they cut it? i want to say that's why it grows out poofy like that. next time, try telling the stylist you want an all-scissor cut. it grows out more naturally that way. it's a good thing you have 2 months because that gives you time to grow it for more flexibility with what you decide to do but here's a couple of photos to get the ball rolling on my suggestions. if you like 'em, save the photos and take 'em with you whenever you go get the cut. i realize your hair is short but you might still be able to manage something similar to these styles with a little more length if you're not already there.

appropriate for a wedding yet still trendy enough to rock everyday and i think you could probably pick up a few bridesmaids with those hairstyles once you're all suit + tied up

Go see a traditional barber. He'll get ya squared away. Find an old guy who's been cutting hair for the last 30+ years or find a traditional barber shop with enthusiastic barbers that care about tradition, they'll know exactly what to do with your mane. I try to avoid the new barbershops that are gimmicky about being traditional, when really they are staffed with inexperienced stylists that don't know what to do with men's hair. Just my 2c.

Find a stylist. I was introduced to a stylist and I couldn't be happier with the results. Of course I now pay over twice a much, but the feedback I get is incredible. She doesn't use clippers, my hair is much longer than it was.

I disagree - if you go to a barber, you'll get one of the 5 cuts printed on a 50's-vintage poster tacked to the wall under an inch of cobwebs, whether or not that's what you want.

Again, I'm with Chris. I feel like the idea of the classic barbershop tends to be heavily romanticized as part of the "Badger & Blade Experience." That's not to say that a good barber can't give a great haircut, but if you want something specific I really think you'd be better served to go to a stylist. I've been getting my hair cut by the same woman since I was in preschool (granted I'm only twenty) and she certainly considers herself a stylist. I'm definitely happy with the results or else I would've found someone else to cut my hair. The handful of times she's been unavailable I've gone to both barbershops and salons and I've always been happier with the results from the salons.

Again, I'm not trying to trash barbershops, but I feel unless you want a fairly basic haircut then a stylist is the way to go.

While we are generalizing about barbershops...I am with Chris and Matt. Find a stylist at a salon. You have 2 months and you want a more professional look, so I wouldn't take chances.
