My wife and I have been using shampoo bars by Chagrin Valley for the past month and we love them! I definitely want to try bars by some of the other vendors, though.

I'll post back with my success/failure.

Edit: Ok maybe not, should've tacked it onto my soap order. It'd cost more for shipping than it would for the bar.
If you decide to change your mind, Mystic Waters and QCS both make wonderful shampoo bars. My favorite from QCS is the Tea Tree Lavender. MW only makes one, but it is a really great one.

I have used H&S for like 15+ years, but took a chance and got this in December: http://www.queencharlottesoaps.com/i...products_id=73

Usually when I try a new shampoo I have to go back to H&S within a week because of itching and flakes, but to my surprise this shampoo bar worked and worked for weeks and weeks.
When it got really cold and dry here for a few weeks I had to go back for a few days, but so far the shampoo bar have worked out really good for me.

+1, I too get flakes if i dont use a medicated shampoo. Last week I got a QCS lemon bergamont shampoo bar sample in a order from QCS. I have been using it over a week now and still no flakes. I am quite happy with it.

I'm using Liggett's "Herbal" shampoo bar, and I really like how it performs. Before that, I tried (and liked) a bar of Neutrogena Naturals. The Neutrogena is much harder to rinse, but other than that their performance is about the same. Leaves hair clean and soft, definitely not dry -- a vast improvement over any liquid shampoo I've tried.

I would check with Michelle. I think she has reduced pricing for shipping a single puck.

I think some people think that because the bars don't lather as much or as well as they do in soft water that they don't work. Well, we have hard water here and I get plenty enough lather. Its not a super foaming lather but none the less it lathers.

I shampoo every other day with their Citrus/Chamomile or Ayurvedic Herb and love them. I also do the vinegar rinse but only once per week.

Got a sample in my last order from Mystic Water and it was great. It lathered easily and smelled good too.

I bought two from QCS. And I like it a lot. It works good smells amazing, and my hair is just as soft as when I used liquid shampoo... (I used head and shoulders, and only then cuz it made my hair soft...) I really like the simplicity of it... However, I'm kinda lazy and just rub it on my hair to make lather...

+1. Your dandruff may be caused by detergents in shampoo. I had such bad dandruff that I had to use prescription shampoo from the dermatologist.

I've been using shampoo bars since July of 2010 now, and my scalp has never been healthier. I've been using Mystic Waters shampoo bar for well over a year.

    Very well stated.
As to the vinegar rinse, do it when your hair feels "gunky". Make sure to rinse all the vinegar off your hair, or it will sting.

I've never used a shampoo bar. I've been using Selsun Blue Naturals shampoo. My scalp tends to get dry and itchy. Do any of you have first-hand experience with the Mystic Waters shampoo bar, who also have had dry scalp? What were your impressions, improvement? No change?

I'm planning on ordering some of her shaving soap this weekend, and I'm also considering her shampoo bar... just have never used one.

Just a general comment as I've not used either of the products you mention. But, in general, dry hair and/or dry scalp will be helped quite a bit by switching to a good shampoo bar (ie: one without SLS or SLES) as it is often the chemical detergents (SLS/ SLES) that are responsible for this condition. Lots of info on shampoo bars in the wiki, btw. http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/Shampoo_bar
