    Default Local Beer Exchange?

Is there anyone who would be interested in doing a local beer exchange? We would ship beer that is brewed in our region to people in a different region, and receive beer in kind.

    For instance:
Trading units would consist of seven people living in different regions.
You would buy six different six-packs of local beer. You would then assemble 6 assorted six packs and ship them to 6 participating members.
Each member would do this, round-robin, so that in the end you would have a 36-beer sampler to try.

I would further suggest these region boundaries, or thereabouts.

Where are you located? I inquired about this once before a couple months ago. I'm always looking for rare limited edition beers.

I would definately be in for this!!! Atlanta has become quite the hub for beer connoisseurs, but there are a lot of beers out west that don't make it here, or make it here in there pastuerized versions, not as fresh. Count me in, from Atlanta, GA.

Well, I think our best bet would be a flat rate box. I am personally in Columbus, Ohio. This city is an excellent hub of breweries. However, and especially considering the lack of interest thus far, having Columbus and Chicago in the same group wouldn't be bad. (mmmm....three floyds).

Another option would be to do growler trades with a smaller number of people.

I think it's a pretty common practice on beer boards. And we want you on the team, pliny.

Isn't "beer trading" legal? You just can't have beer shipped that was obtained with money. I believe that's what I read. If not legal, plenty of people have shipped beer through UPS or FedEx and been fine. Just don't ship it through USPS, that is a crime.

Sorry guys. After review by the mod squad, we have to put the kibosh on this.

11.) Tobacco, alcohol, firearms, and products of questionable taste or dubious legality may not be sold nor traded on B&B.
