Default Floid or Trumpers Skin Food?

When I eventually have the funds to "splash" on an aftershave I will probably consider between Floid or Trumpers Skin Food as my luxury aftershave. How do the two compare against each other?

Well, one is an alcohol splash and the other is a balm.

Aside from sheer personal preference, balms are more moisturizing and better for cold weather. I prefer splashes, but cold where I live is anything below 60 degrees, so I'm spoiled in that regard

I love Floid-I just wish I knew how to pronounce it. I have the Suave variety from Spain. Just great stuff.

They are so different. At some point you will own both.

I can't get over how good Floid smells. It's the only product I own that I have backup bottles of.

Agreed. They are very different - splash vs. balm. There is a simple solution - buy and use both!

I love Floid! I prefer it to Skinfood. But in all actuality, Floid is not a high end Aftershave. Its to Spaniards, and Italians, what Clubman is here...Skinfood is a.different type of product altogether, much more moisturizing, and nourishing. Floid is an Alcohol based bracer..

I havent tried Floid, but I LOVE my Trumpers Lime Skin Food! It feels fantastic on my skin (my skin is pretty sensitive, i need balms), and leaves my skin looking great.

Floid is alcohol based and will sting when first applied but it also has menthol which will cool the skin and feel good as it cools. Floid will also make you skin feel soft and refreshed. Skinfood is fantastic stuff, has no burn but also no menthol cooling but seems to do wonders when i have a rough shave. with all that said i use Floid much more often because i love the sent and the cooling effect you get from it.

    thanks

You know that Floid makes an after shave balm. Anybody out there tried it?

    Pronounce it Flojd/Floyd or Flojt/Floyt.

I have the Coral Skin Food and Floid Blue... And think they are both fantastic.

Only got my Floid Blue around 3 weeks ago, and in that time have only used the Coral Skin Food once (had been using it for a year). I would say the Coral Skin Food leaves my face more moisturised, but then it's not a splash. But the smell of Floid when it goes on the skin is far superior, as it reminds me of sitting in the barbers chair when I was a kid.

Which Floid ? Floid Blue is my favorite, Vigoroso is ok, but I'm gonna sell it. I'll try Suave and Amber someday too.

You should get the Trumper's samples from their website to try out the skin food. I think it's under $10 shipped for several cream, and EDT samples, along with 2 skin food samples. I have the Sandalwood SF and I like it, but I don't think it smells much like most of the others Sandalwood scents I've tried.

With everyone singing the praises of Floid, where would you all recommend me picking up a bottle of this magical stuff? I don't see it on Amazon.

Next question...do you recommend Floid blue or the regular? I'm new to DE shaving and have been using a balm (Geo Trumpers Sandlewood). I'd like to try an AS.

Go with Skin Food, so there is more Floid Blue for me to buy before it disappears forever!
