I'm just hopeful for an exciting (and dry) race. It's supposed to be 78 F (26 C) and sunny on Sunday. Should be interesting seeing how the super-softs hold up under high speed and high fuel loads. I'd love to see Jenson win again this year but after his recent performances I'm not getting my hopes up.

    Woohoo! We're under way.

Never thought I'd say this, but this week I'm pulling for Crybaby Hammy and Massa, who has shown much improvement of late.

It's a lot drier than last year.

Very clean race so far through 20 laps- Hamilton, Alonso, and Vettel. Paul di Resta holding his own.

Hammy was a bit slow out of the pit- he's probably kicking himself.

What a great race. I tend to root for McLaren more than the other eleven so I was pretty happy. It was also nice not being exhausted all day since I didn't have to get up at 3am.

With the exception of the Maestro ending up DNF again I was very pleased with the race.

Bravo to Lewis and McLaren. Job well done.

Boy those 2 kids are fast aren't they! Luca has got to regret that lack of experience statement.

I was reading up a little on some post race coverage and what really impressed me the most was Hamilton's ability to gap Alonso and Vettel when needed. He also seemed to really know the breaking point of those softs he was running in the middle stint and changed to a new pair at the perfect time. While Monaco is beautiful and has all the mystique, for me this was a much better race.

The long straight sections of the track make for a fun race. Lots of good passing opportunities there (more now thanks to the DRS).
As much as I'm not a Hammy fan, he raced an excellent race.
Grosjean is impressing me more and more.

Too bad Ferrari's strategy didn't pay off. Massa sure didn't look so hot out there towards the end.

Agreed. Most of the participants of this sport have such privileged roots that you almost expect them to be spoiled brats. Hamilton didn't, which makes his demeanor all the more surprising. When someone is super talented, a big star, makes millions, has an A-list girlfriend, and still has to whine endlessly, he needs to be dangled out a window by his ankles.

Neither did Kimi, and it's not the first time this year.

Could Ferrari and Red Bull have been anticipating a safety car period that did not come with their "strategy" and exploit track position?

Such long stints on the softer tire just seem rediculous to me, Lewis was immediately on the pace to catch them even before their tires hit the "cliff".

The Ferrari cars seem to lack the straight line speed that might have kept them going with a tire change.
Those McLaren cars are awfully quick.

The booze started wearing off towards the end, he didn't have a high enough ABV in his camelback. He can't win without his go-juice.

When he did his last tire change, I expected him to come out charging, but it never materialized.

I don't even know what that means, but it sounds funny.
