2012 sunglasses: so what's new?

so it's 2012 and as always i'm on the lookout for the latest and greatest sunglasses. I came across a few new models from Mosley Tribes, the Mateo http://mosleytribes.com/summer-12-collection/mateo/ and the Cayton http://mosleytribes.com/summer-12-collection/cayton/ for those of you into the aviator look.

any other cool new sunglasses out that I should keep an eye out for?

Love Mosley Tribes. Just bought a pair of Hillyards Polarized

Damn, those are nice! I'm a fan of the Mateo as well. Also, the Colden and the Enforcer in their online shop are on my hit list.

Go classic and timeless and get the American Optical Original Aviator. It's worn by US Air Force, the team from the first moon landing, and even Don Draper. Best of all it's only $35 dollars new on ebay.

Classic aviators are awesome. If you can spend a little more, I prefer Randolph Engineering to American Optical. YMMV

I dig the original Ray Ban aviators as well. I just always feel like I am going to break them.

Well I'm bummed, last year I was diagnosed with vertical diplopia (double vision) it can only be corrected by surgery but currently isn't bad enough to warrant it as it can be corrected by glasses with prisms. All my oakleys and such are now somewhat useless for me as I can't wear contacts very much anymore as I get a really bad headache after a few hours No more cool sunglasses for me

There's hope yet. Many cool frames from Oakley, Ray Ban etc can take prisms.

Anyone in Vancouver know where to get a great deal on sunglasses?

I don't know any stores that are reasonably priced, because sun glasses are marked up quite a bit. But Clearly Contacts.ca has decent prices.

already own a pair of AO's

warby parker make some pretty sweet looking shades.

I'm currently in the market for new shades. I have not decided whether to go with new Persols or Smith optics for sport.
