    Default Rooney and M&F

Can someone enlighten me on the relationship between these two(if any at all)? As well as the correlation between Lee Sabini and the two? I know Lee now makes M&F(all I know). Is their a history?

Lee was the Managing Director of Rooney, then bought the rights to m&f from them. m&f was a company that Rooney had bought out.

I have been wondering the same thing! I believe they are owned by the same person, yet distinct companies. This should be an interesting thread.

Got it, so he has nothing to do with Rooney any longer then? Too bad there is no face of Rooney and you can not get custom made brushes(nor special editions for that matter). Not taking anything away from Lee or M&F. Those are beautiful too!

This is hearsay, but from what I've picked up from various threads/forums, Lee was the Managing Director (head honcho) of Rooney. (Very little information is available about Rooney, though, because it is privately held.)
I'm not sure if he is still part of Rooney, but the M&F nameplate was revived by him and is separate and solely run by Lee.
Perhaps others can confirm and add to this.

All the above is about right, at least from what we have all individually gathered and discussed. M&F is Lee's baby, and boy his brushes are some of the best made today IMO. There are many similarities between Rooney and M&F, how deep that relationship is, only Lee knows of course.

    This.

Lee maintains contacts at Rooney, of course (anyone who knows Lee will understand his gregarious nature) and I believe he even has a couple of the Rooney lady's in his employee from time to time (or did) but officially the current M&F is not "part of Rooney".

Most of the retired "kremlinologists" who used to work for the CIA back in the 70s try to keep their skills sharp by being "Sabiniologists", trying to figure out this very question.

You will get more definitive answers if you ask about the brand of women's underwear that Leonid Brezhnev liked to wear. As for face lathering, I'd take a Beehive over Vladimir's Secret anyday.

    Hi johnny

I am still a director and go into the factory at least once a week.

But as I wished to spend more time with my family the day to day running is now done by my staff and partner.

    Lee,

Thanks for the reply and the information.

Do you still have something to do with the making of the Rooney brushes?

    Regards,

    Johnny

I think that he owns part of it, along with his partners. He took the m&f brand to do something he can do from home, so he can spend time with the fam.

Then maybe he can explain why my Rooney 3/2 loses 5 hairs every time I pick it up.....
Rooney and Kent are my favourite brush makers, but there is absolutely no customer service.

However, the Heritage and Finest brushes more than make up for the shoddy workmanship on my 3/2 super.

I dont want to read too much into it(ok, Im lying), but I have to imagine that it doesn't sit too well with his "partners" the amount of business he is making with the M&F brand. From this site alone(I mean cmon, we have a huge thread dedicated to M&F).
-Imagine if Rooney would take custom orders the way Lee does??

Not much different than Vulfix and Simpsons. I've never seen a custom Vulfix and we devote way more time to Simpsons than Vulfix.

Oh, you can contact Vulfix/Simpsons and they do have great customer service.

There have been numerous posts here lately praising Kent's outstanding customer service. Rooney, well that's another story.

Who's to say that there is not some sort of revenue sharing between Rooney and M&F?
