Strictly a bowl latherer. Do not like face lathering past applying my already prepped lather whatsoever.

I only face lather. To me it seems like I get a better soap load in my brush with a grated stick vs applying directly to my face.

Yep, it's a brand thing. I only mill "special" stick-only soaps - LaToja (excellent) and Valobra (outstanding) are the two milled "pucks" in my daily roatation that fall into this category.

Okay so I grated Speick into my vacant OS mug and again, I like it so much better than the stick form. Intended use be damned!

I face lather with sticks, pucks, creams, and even mix uberlather on my face. Shave sticks are the quickest and simplest way to face lather

Well that works for you, but it doesn't work for me.
Palmolive sticks are dirt cheap here in the UK. I put my stick in a bowl, but I don't use a cheese grater or a rolling pin or a mallet. I just mash the thing down with my thumbs, not as soft as Arko, but still soft enough to use my thumbs.

I'm going to have to try greeting these or putting the in a bowl from now on. Palmolive sticks are 50 pence in tesco here in the UK some felt compelled to buy some

Palmolive is all I use. After my bad reaction to cella I decided to stop experimenting and use what works. I use the stick for travel and for home I have three sticks squashed into the red tub the Cella came in.

Hobby and AD aside there's no need to look anywhere else.
Fad has vanished but shave will be great forever. Thanks to lessons learned at B&B !
