Default Liked Euro Palmolive as a stick, LOVE it grated into a bowl

Seriously, I thought the stuff was just okay as a stick. But, I decided to grate it in a bowl and....WOW! I'm not really a fan of the sticks, but I couldn't let this one go without giving it a fair shot. Glad I did. Might have to do the same with a Speick stick.

Anyone else prefer to grate their sticks?

I tried a Euro Palmolive stick for the first time this morning. I thought it was pretty good, but I, too, didn't really care for the shave stick experience.

Seriously, I found it to be fantastic after I grated it. So far I've tried Arko, Speick, and Palmolive as sticks and Arko is by far the best. It's softer so I tend to get a better coverage of soap on my face

I agree, I use shave sticks from time to time but prefer loading from apuck, so I neglected, my palmolive and valobra , until I grated them into containers, now I use them almost as much as my mdc and la toja :)

That's what I did with Palmolive and Speick. Don't like the stick thing at all but read some posts by others suggesting the grate and press into a bowl thing. Both are very good performers.

I have several different sticks that i keep for travel, and have most of them also grated into a bowl, but last couple trips I found myself throwing a couple Ziploc bowls of soap in my gear,,,,, I can see myself doing away with sticks completely. I'm starting to use a split method while traveling,,, loading and partial lather on the soap, then finish on the face.

I used my Speick shave stick as a stick for a week, and did not immediately fall in love with rubbing the stick on my face - that was mostly due to the shape of the stick, I think, it felt clunky and awkward.

So, I grated half of it into my EJ shave mug, and was really impressed with how well the soap performed in that manner. I still have the bottom half of the shave stick, I am going to use that as a shave stick, and compare the experience, maybe I'll come around to using the stick right on my face. For the moment, however, the grated product worked better for me.

+1 I did the same with Palmolive and Speick. Works great! I use a microplane grater and it packs into a puck very tight.

The only stick I use for travel is Irish Moos.

I am not much of a stick guy. I picked up Palmolive and Arko because of their reputation and price. First thing I did was grate the Palmolive in a fancy bowl. Can't wait to try the Arko once the Palmolive is gone. Actually I don't mind waiting because this Palmolive is really nice!

Try grating the Speick. I guarantee that you will repeat the Palmolive experience.
Both STicks are to small and hard for my liking, but I absolutely love them grated.

+1 to all of the above that praises the grating of sticks.

Sir Irisch Moos benefits from a grating too

I think I will definitely hold onto it so I can grate it once the palmolive is gone. Thanks for the heads up

What? You use up a soap before starting another? You sir, are, well, broken. Now see the good nurse to the right and open up that Arko :)

I keep 2 OS mugs devoted to Arko and Palmolive sticks. I grate the Palmolive and just mash the Arko into the mug since it's a bit more malleable than Palmolive and it's not as messy as grating.

Well I do have an OS mug sitting there empty. Hello Speick stick, meet Mr Cheese Grater

Sticks offer some of the best shaves at the best prices available.

La Toja is my number one, followed closely by Palmolive.

Valobra, Spieck and Arko are outstanding as well. All of these are in my top 10
