Default Cased Eclpise Red Ring..90 % minty razor and case.

I got another Eclipse Red Ring daily user last week, So I don't need this one. I figured I should let our Badgers a chance to get it.This one is like 90% mint and case is mint too, still has original stickers inside. I dont collect so I will let a Badger collector get it.

Eclipse Red Ring in mint case $350 shipped insured free.......Pm me any situations ( if nobody can afford i will put in Ebay which will sell instantly in BUY IT NOW)

I got beat on all 3 this weekend. Had no idea they were this pricey.

Very tempted (this would be my first vintage razor - I don't collect DE's, but I do enjoy quality).

If you don't collect DE''s you may want to skip this one. I've used one, and it's a nice razor, well made.....but no more so than many other vintage razors. It does shave well, but a Slim will give you the same shave at a slightly lower price point.

If you're a collector, or if you HAVE to try every razor made, then this is a good chance to get your hands on one (they're pretty rare). Given the excellent shape of this one, I'd say it's more for collectors.

All the best with the sale of this lovely razor, Alex.

I tell myself I'm not a collector, but I guess I am. That said, what's wrong with being a collector? I think this razor is worth every cent given how rare these are, it's condition and good reputation. These are rarer than real Eclipses. I would love to own this very one but sadly I can't right now.

I didn't mean to imply that the razor was not worth the asking price. It is a collector's item that is also functional, and the price is reasonable.

What I was cautioning people on was that expecting it to shave proportionally better than your $20 Slim is not realistic. The Red Ring shaves well, but it's worth is mainly in its place as a collectible, not it's performance (which is also good).

I don't regularly use 90% of the razors that I own, but I do get a lot of enjoyment out of looking at them for beauty's sake. It's a real tribute to the industrial designers who created such beautiful razors, and I'd put this Eclipse in that category--a real work of art.

Question: Does your Eclipse have the sunburst on the top cap?

There were 3 up this weekend? I only saw one, I guess my search skills need an upgrade?

no, its the BB model. no sunburst.

its adjustable though and has built in magnet at the tip. ( adjustment mechanism was a quarter of a century ahead of the Gillette Fat Boy, it works in a similar manner to today’s Merkur Progress, you turn a knob on the bottom (which has an arrow on it) up fully for mildness then slacken it off slightly for more aggression, there are markers on the handle so you can calibrate your setting. The magnet is a small but very nice touch.)

With all due respect and deference to MajorBurnz, I have both a Slim and a Red Ring in my rotation. I think the RR shaves more like the love child of a straightened Slant and New Deluxe short comb. I love mine.

    Good luck with the sale.
And I shaved my face and combed my hair and stumbled down the stairs...
