Welcome to B&B, Steve.
Welcome to B&B, Steve!
Thanks again for the warm welcome guys! Thanks to beengone for a link to a great deal on a Edwin Jagger razor on Amazon. I ordered it but they are temporarily out of stock. I signed up for Amazon Prime so i get free shipping for the next 30 days which should be plenty of time to get my "starter kit" together.
Welcome to B&B, Steve. The real progress is going back to traditional wet shaving with a DE or straight razor.

Welcome from another Newbie here from Northern NJ......... seems as if we stubbled on a fantastic site and I'm in need of allot of information...Went to a Safety Razor recently and love it... reminds of when I learned to shave back in the late 70's and brings back memories of seeing my Dad shave...
Welcome to B&B!
You may want to look into some of our B&B sponsoring vendors. Good folks with good prices for the most part. They support B&B; always good to support them when possible. That $26 DE89 was interesting though. Everyone has their favorite(s), but here's the link to the vendor list.

Steve, welcome aboard the B&B! I'm a new member and a relatively new "returnee" to traditional wet shaving. You will find, likely already have, that this is a great community. Everyone is so willing to help, support, share advice. You can search through the forum for threads on new shavers, advice on kits and technique and save yourself a lot of time and mistakes (my story). A treasure trove of information and some fun!
Jump on in, the hot water and lather is fine! Keep posting to this threand and share your first shaves and progress with the rest of us! If you PM your address to me, I would be glad to PIF (send you free) a small sample of some blades to try if you like.
I'm originally from the Philly and SE PA area, spent a good portion of my younger years in NJ as well. Transplanted to Wyoming in 1977.

In search of good saftey blades..... yet to find what I like yet...
Art of shaving has Merkur and Harmon Drug store has Wilkonsons... but thats not that big a selection... would love to try some others.. probably going to order a sample pack on line....but would be nice to have a list of stores that have a good selection..
Anyway, it's great to have you here with us.

Welcome from another "vintage" member. We are glad you have joined us here. Since your questions have been well answered by my brothers above I will simply say have fun and enjoy your shaves.
I grew up by Exit 165. To you non-New Jerseyans, that's Paramus.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
Thank you all! I appreciate the continued welcomes. Nice friendly board.
H.S.M.Jr. and dfollett_98 - good to hear that there are others here with "patina". Aging is so weird - i don't feel old and yet everywhere i go when i look around, i'm the oldest guy there... :) - NOT complaining about aging as the alternative sucks.
Rjack - i'm between exits 2 and 3 of the Turnpike.
