    Default Out for a week

Looks like my time with my straight collection is going to be short for the next week or so, all thanks to my love for French press coffee! While cleaning my press this afternoon, it broke at the handle and decided to go directly through the top of my thumb on my dominant hand. 5 stitches and a good amount of swelling later, my thumb barely bends. Thus, I have to go back to DE shaving for a few days until the swelling goes down enough to hold my razor properly. Maybe this is a good time to take a few razors over to an old barber I know and get a proper shave from someone else! Maybe if I bring him all of my supplies, including a brush and some P.160, I will find the true barber experience. Worth working a half day? What do you guys think!

a nice walk in the woods helps me relax and relieves tension....

the fact i'm dragging a shovel and a body should be irrelevant...

Could have been much worse. No nerve or tendon damage, clean cut, not shards of glass in the cut. I got off lucky.

I would embellish the story, say you fought off a bear with just a butter knife.

Ow. This would be a good time to practice with your non dominant hand, I would have thought.

Chuck Norris would have bit the rest of the thumb off and kept going.

Hope you heal fast, as you wrote at least no real permanent damage.

super glue was invented as a surgical adhesive.... thats why it only really sticks good to skin.. lol.....

this was needing stitches its about 2" long and was pretty deep into the meat of my palm... i washed it really good and got a co-worker to squirt 2 drops of super glue into the cut *(he is squirmish and almost passed out... lol) then i held the 2 sides together for ~30seconds till it dried... then i went back to work....... it healed very cleanly.... i did have to reapply the super glue 2 days later but it healed really really fast......

i also have another cut on my other thumb *(can't get a good pic) that i SG'd and it healed beautifully...... and on my bird finger of this hand *(it healed to where you really can't see the scar)...

i ain't saying don't go to the Dr.....

Nasty cut heal well. I have also used crazy glue. It works awesome. Electrical tape works well as butterfly bandages in a pinch as well.

I agree. It's the nastiest, grodiest, most jagged cuts that seem to heal the best. It should leave a cool scar. A nice clean slice made by a sharp razor seems to take forever.

That is a swell cut. Lucky. Chicks dig scars, but you're gonna have to come up with a far better back story: Saving an innocent from a train wreck or from an auto accident, or from a burning building where you were required to bust a window with your bare hands, or from a mugger. That might get you laid. French press, not so much.

Chuck Norris would in fact have sharpened the glass that cut him, sewn it into his skin, and shaved BBS with the glass. Just a thought.
