You guys convinced me to buy a puck. I expect it in about a week to a week and a half shipped from Connaught in the UK. I bought a refill puck since I have plenty of bowls/mugs to place it in. I also bought some Proraso Eucalyptus and a tube of Erasmic cream. I should be set on shaving supplies for a while as I already have four pucks of VDH, a full tube of Arko and five Palmolive sticks in my shaving supplies drawer. Those acquisition disorders sneak up on you, don't they?

Bump. Up, up goes the Tabac thread! May it prosper and live long, even longer than glue/wax-spots-on-PPI-blades-threads and Iridiums-resurrecting-or-not?-threads!

EDIT: And may there be more replies and more Tabac aficionados than gentlemen claiming to have a sensitive skin for shaving! Can Tabac pull that kind of a feat? It just might...!

<bump> I bought a bunch of new flavors and haven't touched Tabac for days and days. I know it is feeling neglected so I'll use it later this morning, following up with Razorock Aftershave Wax which is beyond most excellent. Wish I loved the scent of Tabac. </bump>

This gave me a quick chuckle, so I thought I would send it back to the top. I must admit I didn't think the smell was that great at first, but now I love it. I will take it out of the drawer and set it out somewhere, just so I can smell it. I have even considered buying a puck to cut up and stash around the house.

BTT, just got a bottle of Tabac AS as well, and love it as well as the soap. I am a little disappointed in how quickly it seems to fade, but then I remember the relative humidity is about 7% here this time of year.

Has anyone ever actually finished a puck of Tabac?

I've had mine for over a year, closer to two, and whilst it isnt an everyday soap for me, and I have worn a huge dent in the bottom of it, it still persists!

Guess I shouldn't have rushed out and got 2 pucks plus a mostly unused soap in the jar?

    What a newbie...
I had to ban myself from B&B while at work... (unless on break or lunch, of course!)

I was really worried because I heard a government health warning that Tabac was bad for you.

Turns out it was Tobacco. Lucky eh !!!!!

I have used the pre and the tabac cream. It's like you get the menthol coolness and the smell of the tabac. I liked it alot. Plus I'm really not shaving without the pre now, wish I would have started using it sooner. No nicks.

Funny stuff! :) I love my Tabac. I would be using it tonight but have been forced into a blind shaving cream and AS sampling by my buddy, Earcutter, here on B&B. Damn, you, David! I want my Tabac back! ;)
    Cheers! /Mark

OK. Every time I decide I am done with Tabac, I get a really good shave. Today it was fabulous. Admittedly I did a different prep than I normally do with Tabac. Weekends I have more time so I do a different prep than during the week. After shower, I used a light coat of CO Bigallo (Love the cream, not crazy about the menthol, really waiting on the new Proraso!) Then hot towel on my face. I had taken the puck of Tabac from the container it was in fully intending to PIF it to someone who wanted to try it, and put it in a Col Conk apathacary mug. Light coat of hot water while I soaked an AOS trial pkg brush (yes the crappy brush they include with the $25.00 trial pkg of products) in hot water. Shook the brush a couple of times and lathered on the Tabac. From there I face lathered. Ended up with a near BBS shave. Razor was an EJ89L with Feather blade on day 6. Now I have to see if this was a one off or if I had not been lathering the Tabac properly. I had it in a much smaller container with a lid and may have let it become too hydrated to work well. The puck was quite dry when I used it this morning. I have really wanted to like Tabac, since I like the scent!
