It's easier than it looks - if I can do it, then a cat with its hands covered in honey could do it

    Seriously

When you don't have anything but sandpaper Pits are seemingly as deep as the Grand Canyon, and paper Micarta is as hard as Diamonds lol!!

I'll get it done, but it'll take, and has taken, some serous effort!

I don't think I'll ever get the wierd stains & Pits off of the blade, and I fear I might get lazy and create the fattest scales ever known to man lol!

Thanks for the support - I AM a wuss! I love this lol: "if I can do it,

Thanks guys! It's comming along. I need to get the razor done and then I'll post. They do look kind of nice but I wish I had a drill press ... Need to figure out my poor workmanship done at 3am lol!!

it's a crazy amount of work though! I have to admit I enjoy the finish - the grunt work was killer!

Well the first one went the way of the Do Do due to no drill press. So I went with the second set with a red liner. I found a buddy with a drill press and got that out of the way this morning - but I don't like the red lining as much.

As I got excited after having the holes drilled well, I went over to hobby lobby to get some letter presses so that I could inscribe the history of the razor and give credit to Greybeard aka Peter for the information in the brass liner. I cracked the scales... sigh. Note - inscribe before inserting brass on scales!

But with the brass liner still holding it all together, I still put it together so I can send it to Speadster1 for honing - I breadknifed the thing like nothing else and don't have the right stone to set the bevel.

Anyway - don't worry about the pinning as I just pounded them in as I'll need to rescale it again!! But it's all good as this is all in preperation for a 7-day set I am working on. Once I find what I like, I'll be making 7 - but for my first go - I am happy.

I am not convinced I like the weight of the brass. I'll go with thinner next time. I want the brass so I can inscribe it with random things and because it doesn't rust. But what do you guys think? Is the liner and brass too much??

    Thanks

Oh BTW - it took forever to get most of the pitting to a min but i am super happy with the blade. Moreover, I wiped the smile right off of the thing lol!

I can't wait to send it and get it back from Mark aka Speadster1 for a shave!!
