Blackheads eww

I've always had a nose full of blackheads, clean them out and they come right back.

Same here. I've just kind of accepted it. And its really not that bad anyhow. I used the oil cleansing method for quite a while and it worked fine, but didn't help my nose. I got lazy with that, but I didn't start using any soap or other cleanser in its place and everything is fine. There have been a lot of recommendations made, but if I could make one it is that less is more. Yes, there are medications, and you can get some Celaphil or whatever and wash the shit out of your face several times a day, but your just going to wreck your skin, leaving it susceptible to more bacteria. I've had horrible skin all my life and now I just wash my face with water a couple times a day (with the exception of shave soap) and I'm convinced that at least for me, that is the best solution.

Are you sure they actually are blackheads? Considering the rest of your face is ok its probably just sebaceous filaments, nothing to worry about. :-)

Hmmm, never really considered sebaceous filaments vs blackheads. Thanks for the information and education.

After reading that, mine are definitely sebaceous filaments. Guess I'll just have to get used to them.

+1 to the differin, I use Spectro-gel to clean my face, blot dry, then apply the differin. Once when I get up, once before retiring for the night. You mentioned Drs are expensive... I think looking for anything with Benoyl Peroxide in it, the clean and clear persagel has it, would work.

Mix gelatine powder with a bit of milk and microwave until melted, apply to the affected area and leave to dry then peel off - it's like the strips, only dirt cheap. The downside is it smells pretty horrible, but it works

Beauty supply and drug stores sell these nose strips to remove BHs. You wash your nose and leave it wet. Then you take a strip and put the sticky side against your nose and press. You leave it on about 15 minutes. This strip hardens up, lifting out the BHs. If applied correctly, you'll be amazed at how well these work. It actually removes a layer of skin so you should only do this every few months. I'd say you get 80% with these strips...so best to use this technique with other options.

The brand I'm familiar with is Biore" pore deep cleaning strips. Don't buy the cheaper store brands...they don't work well.
