Default Open Comb Score (At Last)

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/380411834051...ht_3870wt_1154

If I'm correct, I just bought an Old Type Ball End. I'm hoping that it'll clean up well. I'll try to remember and post "before" and "after" pics.
This will be my first open comb. I'm anxious to see how it compares to my '53 SuperSpeeds and my '54 Ball Handle Tech.

ETA: pics don't seem to show any of the handle cracks I'm led to believe are common with these. Hopefully it doesn't have a huge one they didn't show.

Yep, ball-end old type. I certainly doesn't look like any cracks, so that's good. It's a nice shaver, and bit more aggressive than your other razors. As far as aggressive razors go though, I think it's a good place to start. It's got moderate blade exposure, but pretty much a non-existent gap between blade and the combs, which ups the safety factor a bit.

Mine was one of the first razors I got, and the only one I still use almost every day. I've tried many razors, I still keep coming back to my old type!

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised but it looks like the seller has a razor blade between the base plate and the handle.

That's what I thought as well. Reminds me of the several Techs I've seen for sale on the bay lately where they were assembled with the base plate upside-down.

Congrats on the purchase! I seriously hope that the seller has promised to ship it properly, in a box — at that price, and with a seller who literally doesn't know where the blade goes, you may want to remind them not to ship in an envelope, lest you end up with a packet of squashed brass.
