Excellent post and congratulations! Best wishes to your family. I have also resorted to a less than preferable and minimalist shave while traveling w/o proper tools and supplies. As you said, you can properly prepare and make an acceptable "lather" with bar soap, shampoo, or conditioner if you have to. Any hand or body lotion can serve as an after shave balm. The techniques learned with the traditional wet shave can be successfully translated to using less than adequate product and a diposable razor if need be. In times like these, we can't wait to get back to The Shave Den!
