    Get a Simpsons Berkeley 46B.

Far superior brush than those Parkers, IMO.

    http://thesuperiorshave.com/Simpsons_Brushes.html#46B $52 delivered. #7 looks like a good one.

The Berkeley has gone into my regular rotation along with the likes of Plisson, M&F, Rooney etc. It's a great brush with amazing flow.

Save another $30 and get a Simpson's Rover LE from WCS (you'll have to use the" BandB" 10% off code). Fantastic brush for soap and creams.

If you really must spend $70 max and you don't mind a slightly prickly hair, I would get a Duke 1, Berkeley or Commodore.

If you need soft hair for under $70, I would look at New Forest 3-band brushes.

But I really recommend the Rover.

The only reason I didn't recommend the Colonel is because you indicated you will use it primarily for face lathering. Although the Colonel is flexible and comfortable for both face and bowl, I think there are better choices if you don't bowl lather.

Bought the Colonel X2l but sold because didn't like that it freed much hair. Almost buying Berkeley 46B. But I'm afraid you have the same problem that the Colonel had X2L. But I think it was a defective batch.

    Duke 2... It's a no brainer.

In the pics of the link I sent there seem to be two batches of different hair. The one I suggested looks like mine, which is great.

I really like the Col Conk pure badger brush with the tapered handle. It's a lather machine!
