    Default My 2012 restoration candidates

    Here are pics of brushes I've acquired over the last few months. It all began with starting to read this particular sub-forum (which I had all but ignored) and saying "Hey, I pass up buying old brushes all the time. Maybe I can do this too." I kind of got zealous one day last week and cut all the knots and cleaned them up a bit with Flitz. (didn't really work to hard on the cleaning part) So, sorry guys, but these are the closest I've got to "before resto" pics.

    I've got a few knots from TGN in different grades and sizes. I've got to study this forum a little more before I'll feel cumfy in trying to set knots. I had two other handles that were cracked and were ultimately destroyed by yours truly when attempting to drill out the old knots.

    Pic 1 : 2nd & 3rd are the same. Says Swiss made?? 2 on right are ERs
    Pic 2 : I guess are both Rubberset
    Pic 3 : ERs
    Pic 4: ERs on either side of a burgundy colored brush that says "USA Sterilized 7 " on bottom
    Pic 5: ER, Rubberset, Century ( which looks black in dim lighting, so to show color I used a flashlight)

    You have a lot of work ahead of you this year. The Ever Ready on the left in the second to last picture, I have one similar to this with a swirly colored handle, this is the only other time I have ever seen one. All of them are very nice though. I can't wait to see them with knots.

    I just finished one that looks like 1 & 2 in the third picture. I posted pics on a thread earlier;

    I can't wait to see some more pics of yours as you progress.
