    Default Arkotastic

Just been out to North London for a Turkish meal with some friends and popped into a supermarket to see what shave stuff they had. They had plenty of colognes, my favourite lemon and a few tabacco scents. They had a range of Arko shave creams and foams, I bought an Arko shave stick for a whopping .85p, it appears to be around £3.00 on-line, am I missing something?

I can't wait to give it a go tomorrow morning, I have had a sniff and it smells fine.

The only thing you're missing, is shaving with it. Have a great shave sir! The ARKO shave stick will deliver some fantastic shaves.

Can you give us an approximate address of the supermarket, for the wiki?

The picture that Greg posted, sure doesn't look like the ARKO Shave Stick. Are you certain you've posted a picture of Arko?

It is my day off today, but I got up at my normal time to try out the Arko. I wet my face with a warm, wet flannel and rubbed the stick over my face ATG. I swirled my moist brush and a dense lather appeared, although it looked a little thin but my face was perfectly covered. I added a drop more water to the brush and swirled again and as if by magic a thick, rich, smooth lather appeared. It made the most wonderful sound as the lather increased in density.

I had a new Derby Extra blade in and started to shave, all was going well until I caught a nick on my chin I put there on Sunday and started to bleed. I made a WTG, and an ATG pass followed by an XTG pass along my jawline and cheeks. I rinsed off with warm water and applied some moisturiser.

The result, an effortless BBS. In fact the smoothest shave I have had to date, and apart from my chin a totally superb result.

Today was the first time I couldn't simply rinse the excess lather off of my brush, I had to squeeze it out twice before I could rinse it out. I was thinking of a scuttle for my next purchase, not so sure now.

mblakele, with regards to the address I wasn't paying attention, I didn't even get the name of the place. I suspect though that in this part of London all of the Turkish mini markets carry similar product. I don't live too far away so what I think I will do is take a trip and do a street review.

I can't wait for tomorrows shave, however I may have to leave my chin alone for a few days.

Very interesting. My son's girlfriend lives in Germany and brought me four sticks of Arko that cost around 75 cent each in a Turkish store there! I've given one back to my son, so he can enjoy the lather. Very hard to beat. All comes down to the smell, which I love and others hate. I guess I'm just lucky. Had a superb Fatboy, Personna, Arko shave this morning.

The good thing about the smell (if you don't like it) is that if you leave it unwrapped, or mash it in a mug and leave it uncovered, the smell dissipates after a while. It doesn't take too long for the harshess to subside.

Actually the smell is pretty nice, either that of my years of chilli abuse has somehow damaged my sense of smell.

Arko's greatness comes as no surprise to me and countless others. It is truly a marvel and no wonder it is the soap of kings.

"The soap of kings" I like that. Arko is a very affordable shave soap that does a fine job. I really don't mind the smell, it reminds me of a laundry detergent type smell.

Laundry detergent, urinal pucks... whatever. If someone paid $40 for it they'd find a cute term to describe it. :)
