I just recieved a new 2012, Peterson St Patrick's Day #87 Apple. Should I smoke it? I want to!!!! Is this the type of pipe that is a collector? I'm a bit of a pipe newbie and I have a few reliable smokers I enjoy.

you bought it to smoke, so smoke it and enjoy. you will get little to no enjoyment staring at it on a shelf.. just my opinion though

the Peterson annual pipes do have certain desirability, but their value isn't so great that smoking it is a problem. Enjoy it - if you want to sell it later it will sell just fine in cared for but smoked condition.

Pipes are made to be smoked. I recently bought a new Butera and didnt hesitate to load it up.
Start out with small loads to season it.
Right, smoke some 1/4 bowls for a while then move to half bowls to build some cake at the heel, cake is important, do some reseach about building cake in your pipe.
I love cake.
