    Default Hi to all Texans!

I have been surprised by how many people here are in the Lone Star State (not that I don't appreciate all the advice from all over) I just wanted to all a special howdy for all my fellow Texans. Shiner bock and brisket forever!

plenty of us from all over. a funny observation i always see on boards like this with folks refering to Texas is how people assign N, S, E & W to parts of Texas differently. South Texas to me is RGV area whereas some folks include San Antonio. What about Dallas? is it trully north or will the folks from Amarillo get offended?

LOL. After living here my whole life I can guarantee it is a big difference from Beaumont to El Paso. The area designations are sort of necessary. A friend of mine from France told me in school they pointed out Texas was bigger than France. Flying from Houston to LA, the mid point is El Paso. I am happy to see the enthusiasm from all over though.

To further confuse the situation I would say Amarillo is in the panhandle. San Antonio is sort of central and south border area. In addition to N,S,E, and W, there is also gulf coast, central, panhandle, hill country, piney woods, the border and I am sure I have missed a few.

haha.. yea. i always refer to that triangle of san angelo, waco and san antonio as central. i never refer to dallas as north as the panhandle to me is north. dallas is just dallas (houston folks will understand). haha. it's too confusing

    Howdy!!
Texas is and always will be Texas. For those of us from here the geographic indicators are helpful given the diversity in the state.

For those of you not from Texas, you are always welcome. We even wrote a song just for you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMhaehb5AnE
