T&H Ultimate Comfort Balm----Yuck Factor #9

Love most of the T&H line, but the UC simply sucks. Cream is no better than any of the others and the scent is disgusting to my nose, YMMV.

I had a sample of the UC balm, and decided to use it after tonights shave (I did not shave this morming). Went to work with the 1805 and DE89/Feather, got my standard BBS then dug for the balm. The sample is a good amount and I gave mydelf a face rub with the whole thing. The stuff of course stunk, but the worst part is that it 15 minutes later, my skin is dry and even feels a bit pasty.

This to me is a low rated balm, well below even the AOS unscented.

Err.. you don't like AoS unscented balm? It was my goto for a good several months.

Of the balms I use right now, I presently rate then as follows in terms of mositerizaing properties:

1. BB
2. T&H Trafalger
3. hanae Mori
4. Issey Miyake
5. AOS unscneted.

I use AOS for those times I either am using a sample fragrance, or no fragrance at all. It is a decent balm, just not up there with the rest of my rotation.

T&H Ultimate Confront is the only T&H balm I really like. Too expensive for me. I use Nivea Double Action Balm.

I very much like the T&H Ultimate Comfort balm. It works for me - I don't get that dry, pasty skin thing at all. So, YMMV. It is basically unscented, but for the briefest moment when it first goes on, it has a faint lavender scent. During these winter months, I like to put on a thin layer of it after splashing on some Alt Innsbruck. It doesn't affect the Alt Innsbruck smell at all, and gives me that extra bit of moisturizing my skin needs in the winter.

May not be to your liking, but at least the T&H sampler is a great deal, so others can try it without having to buy a whole tube.
