dang it!I wish we had some place like that here.I hate not being to just walk in a store to buy something without paying shipping. All my local drug stores carry are the usual Skin Bracer ,AV,etc, not that theres anything wrong with them.

It has its draw backs... Ive had to leave with white knuckles , to not spend hundreds everytime I go in, which is at least once a week...Ive gotten into the habit of just picking up a soap or two, so its not that hard on the wallet..that last post of mine, I picked up, the Floid, valobra, and la toja, as consolation, because I was very close to grabbing a $230 Dovo Flowing straight razor

My latest acquisition from my stop in Pasteur's today....A Feather RG with Pro Super blades..
Ive been engrossed in the world of real straights, and learning to hone on a coticule.. So I know this is a different animal altogether, but I haven't been able to get that smooth straight shave yet.. Im not giving up on them, I enjoy the process off stropping and honing too much, but when I saw Pasteurs just got these in, I had to give it a try....I shaved some arm hair with it, and its ridiculously sharp! moreso than feather de blades.....

P.S. Semogues are expected @ pastuers tomorrow!!

How does the Valobra compare to the La Toja?

I'll be in NYC all next week. Never even knew this place existed and it's only about three or four blocks from the hotel I always stay at. Can't wait to drop in.

We will be heading to NYC to visit our oldest son tomorrow and since he is into DE shaving also (I got him into it in December!), we both will be taking a trip there!

Since I already have much goods on hand from several January to early March orders, I will "TRY" to limit to a special soap or AS

I like the Latoja better than Valobra, and its half the price...LATOJA has easily become one of my top soaps, and I've tried all the big guns so far

Just tried shaving w/ the Feather RG . This thing is outta this world! Sharp is an understatement! I almost wish I didn't try it, as im almost certain a real straight wont get this close. At least it hasnt for me so far, and ive had them honed by the best... Anyway that's for a different thread..Ill still keep trying, but 2 of my 4 straights might just end up on bst after this

I live in a smallish town with a Walgreens and a CVS. So I was just excited to find Proraso products in a pharmacy near my hotel in Montreal last night. I think if I ever get to Pasteurs I'll experience sensory (and financial) overload. It sounds fun though!

Prosraso is great stuff! P.S. I used your little Sheffield Tuckmar this morning.. Wonderful shave.. A little narrow blade so it takes a little getting used to, but incredible honing.....

I also live in NYC, and found this place about a month ago. I go to the UES location, I fortunately/unfortunately work 3 blocks a way a couple days a week, which means I always buy something. I'm only a couple months into this and I've got it bad! The other day I waited with the employees for 30 minutes for them to open b/c the guy with the keys was stuck in traffic. That place is definitely a blessing and a curse, hopefully they'll start giving me samples soon!

That's hysterical.. You wait with the employees for them to open, and the employees wait for me, so they can close.. The other day, I kid you not
, they shut the lights to close, and I was trying to read the side of the simpsons brush boxes by the light of my cell phone, looking for a Berkeley which I picked up...

I'll have to try it, too, but it is my main travel soap now. Maybe I'll grate the Manantiales into a ramekin when I get to it as the bowl is small.
