    You need an intervention!

If I lived close to that place I would buy one of everything in their inventory just to satisfy my curiosity.

I've tried adjustables, slants, open combs, and nothing shaves as smooth and irritation free. Period! The slants and open combs are nice, but who needs aggressive, when all, your going to do is adjust your angle with an aggressive razor to get to the smooth irritation free angle of a de89 anyway.. Believe me, if a razor can get close enough to cut you, which a de89 can do, its close enough to get down to skin, which is how we get bbs. End of story with all the aggressive, not aggressive, nonsense..there is no ymmv with that razor. Everyone I urged to try it, loves it

    Nice haul!

Its good in terms of feeling of my skin after using it.. the scent starts out like bathroom freshener, and dries down into something similar to drakkar, which isn't bad...but it doesny last very long anywa, like most as....ill continue using it, but it won't replace my latoja vigororso, and st johns bay rum...I'm actually heading to pasteurs(the crackhouse) now, to try some speick as....

Ok, so I got the Speick as, just tried it and love it!. I bought some AOS afterashave balm in Lavender for me, and Sandalwood for my brother in law, as well as an inexpensive Semogue 1460 for him, and ill give him a soap I don't care for, to see if maybe I can begin the conversion process on him!!

As for Pasteurs, I promised myself I would stop a ago... This time I mean it... I have 2 Simpson, 3 semogues, and aftershaves, blades soaps, etc to last me at least 2 years... I think I'm gonna stop now.. Really...really I mean it this time, I swear.. Cross my heart...........no really...

Yep, as Gam mentioned, I made my first ever trip to Pateur's this week. My brother lives in Manhattan so I have been to Manhattan several times, but this was my first trip since February of 2009, which was right before I found this forum.

I managed to get out of there without losing my entire wallet; I bought two soaps (Razorock Artisan Boston Tea Party and a little Haslinger puck that's blue) and a couple of 5-packs of blades. My wife bought some face soap from Belgium that cost twice as much as my Razorock. Sigh.

Of all the things in the store, the thing that intrigued me the most (and posed the greatest threat to my wallet) was the Ikon Bamboo razor. Just gorgeous. Also $250. I couldn't do it.

A great, great store. I foresee that I will be in that store every single time I'm in Manhattan in the future.

An Ikon Bamboo Razor for $250, are you sure you were at Pasteur's or were you at Orvis Flyfishing shop? LOL!

The EJDE89, how is it? After starting off with a merkur HD, I have grabbed 2 older gilette's and my future purchases will likely be the EJ and a merkur futur

I'm already plotting my next visit,I may pop in the uptown store this week.I couldn't see the price on the ikon,$250 is a bit much, that's the thing with Pasteur's.Some items are cheaper or equal to what you would pay online, others are way above even with shipping costs considered.Still what a selection

The DE89 is by far my favorite razor...Having owned, Merkur HD, 23C, 37 slant, Open Combs, Progress adjustable, Slim Adjustable...For me this tops them all, in smoothness, comfort and looks. And I get BBS at will

Pasteur's uptown is right near my doctor's office, so after every appointment I head straight to the pharmacy. Next appointment is Monday.

How are they as a pharmacy? I have couple of drs. appointments next week and this seems like a good opportunity to finally pick a pharmacy in nyc.... After 5.5 years of living here.
