    Default How many people stretch?

I have been shaving DE for about 4 or 5 weeks now. This week I decided to stretch my skin to help with hard to reach places (mainly pulling skin up onto/over my jaw line that usually rest on my jaw line/neck. This helps me to get a couple of places on my neck that are impossible to get smooth without buffing them, which causes irritation. I have not tried this before because I have seen some discussion that stretching your skin will cause razor bumps. However, this week I did not encounter this problem. I was wondering if the majority of other wet shaver stretch there skin to assist in shaving or just work the razor around tough areas to produce the desired shave. I look forward to the responses.

i always stretch before i shave. gets me all warmed up and ready to shave, and reduces the chance of injury. don't want to pull a muscle!

At first I had issues shaving the middle of my cheeks - so I filled my cheeks with air (like a blowfish :-) - which is kind of the same as stretching - worked a treat

I do it a lot, pulling right cheek up for jawline / XTG cheek and especially since I'm right handed for working the left side along the jawline & neck area. I recently added the 3rd pass for some sloooow & light ATG up to sideburn areas on both sides and so I use it for pulling the cheek. Tried doing left-handed for left side and not ready for that, if ever!

I always have. Now that I started playing around with a straight every day, even more so.

It helps me get a closer shave with less irritation and less chance of a nick, weeper, or burn

I always stretch with my R41. Make a huge difference. Less so with my slant, super speed and89r.

When you use a straight razor, stretching becomes important. I'd do it with a DE unless you get irritation from it.
    Uh-oh.

I always stretch, but then I use a straight razor and stretching is essential.
