What's new

My first two restores.

The first one is a D. Miller & Son wedge from 1860. I used a Dremel with wet sandpaper on this one.

The second straight is a Wade & Butcher wedge with a Masonic etching, probably from the middle of the 1800's.

Used a dremel with wet sanspaper on this one as well.

nice job!!
Thank you.

Very nice I like the scales on the W&B
I like them too, the blade came in those scales when I bought it.

Very Cool! That is some etching on that blade! Your 'elbow grease ' really paid off. Nice work.
Yeah, it's etching all over the blade. I didn't want to take it too far and ruin the etching, hence I couldn't remove all of the pitting on the other side of the blade.
Well, I actually didn't really elbow grease. I used a dremel with wet sandpapers from 240 grit up to 2k and then I elbow greased a little with some metal polish. It took me all in all 4 hours on the W&B. Here is a link to the method I used: http://lordsofquake.net/~ToxIk/dsh/dsh.html
