I'll go out on a limb and say that the Milord is 1948+ and the '40s-style Super Speed is a '47. I think I can make out the slots in the Super Speed's guard plate that the "wings" on the ends of the center bar fit through, which I don't see on the Milord.

    Holy shamoley!
now that I've studied Achim's site to see what the heck you're talking about....
They're both 48+. Center bars both stright, no wings. I can now see what you were seeing in the pic. Think it might have been shave-crud.

Default to go along with my R41 and NEW

This arrived yesterday. I don't think it's a Single Ring. No numbers anywhere I can see.

Compared to the R4, it drags a lot. It's as thought I can't get the blade to a small enough angle. Is this where you'd use a shim?
I was swapping a Feather blade in between this and the R41. Only one shave so far.

    Thanks, Mack

Mack, my guess is a copy of an Old Type from a Spanish-speaking country: no Gillette markings that I see, "nueves" on the blade case, and it is in the old three-hole style with some three-hole blades also visible. Stretching a little, it could be a mix of parts: the handle looks something like a UK NEW that I have, while the plate looks more like an Old Type. But the case and blades are very much in the early Gillette style, so probably pre-WWII and likely pre-1930.

No telling if it will benefit from a shim or not, but you could try it.
