I've been shaving exclusively with the TGN variant for over a month. Like others, I wasn't blown away with they keyhole design at first. Then the brush arrived and I actually got to hold it. I have big hands and the keyhole design fits like a glove....I love it! As far as the knot, I have only used soaps, no creams as of yet. The brush lathers wonderfully. The Super Badger knot is softer than a Best Badger but still has plenty of backbone when using with soaps. I'm looking forward to trying out this brush with some creams in the near future.

What I find surprising (and a bit sad): that 100 members bought this magnificent brush and so few feel inclined to comment on it.

Rudy and B&B made this great brush possible; I think some kind of acknowlegdement would be in order. But maybe that's just me.

As to the brush: It has seen almot exclusive use since I received it, and it hasn't shed a single hair. Now that's what I call craftsmanship, and it won't be the last Rudy Vey brush in my collection. At the moment I'm thinking about the TGN knot in 24 or 26, set in a burlwood handle. Keyhole, of course!

153 posts spanning nearly 2 months since the first brush was received?

Been a good amount of buyers commenting and plenty of stellar reviews here and in other brush threads.

Nahh... There's been plenty of reviews and discussion, but nowhere near all 100 buyers have chimed in, nor will they likely.
It's just the way it goes. The majority of members on any forum are lurkers and post very little.

I find myself grabbing that keyhole more and more. It's just a great brush.

I waited too long to "pull the trigger" and missed out. I have two custom Rudy Vey brushes and home that I absolutely LOVE and I HATE that I missed out on this year's LE. I have no doubt that these are great brushes and I will definately get in on next year's buy, especially if Rudy is making them.

I've never been much of a face-latherer, but am finding that I go that route more and more with this brush. The D01 knot just works great, and the handle is such a good fit in the hand that it has started to convert me away from bowl lathering. The irony is the brush is absolutely fantastic bowl lathering creams and soaps, also. Very versatile.

The handle is just amazing. I can't decide which I prefer, the keyhole or the M&F L7. And now I see pictures of Rudys R7. I really dont need anymore brushes!

I have been using mine a couple times a week, hoping it will grow on me, but I am still underwhelmed by the TGN knot. I love the handle, but I don't think this one is a keeper for me. Awesome workmanship, just not enough in the knot for me.

Mine has the TGN knot, and for me it's perfect. Wouldn't trade it for anything available on the market today.

Is the TGN knot the same as last years Butterscotch brush? If so, I still am in love with that brush! That is why I was glad to get the opportunity to buy this years brush after missing out on the buy period. I have the D01 knot this year, and just used it yesterday. Loving it also!

I used mine today ... D01 ... and IMHO that is the perfect knot. I wouldn't trade it for anything, including a TGN knot from last year (which I also have ... great, but not this great.)
Be there or be square. Only I can do both!

I wouldn't go that far, since I don't know WHAT is available on the market. But it's a fantastic knot and it is tempting me to find out what it might be like in 26 or 28 mm....

I have the Shavemac knot and have used it exclusively since I got it. It was a little scritchy at first so I used hair conditioner a couple of times which softened it up a bit. It's good and broke in now and has become my favorite brush. It takes more water than most brushes but that's OK, water's cheap, right:) The last week or so it's been nothing but Arko(actually my Arko/Valobra stick mashed in a bowl) or MWF. It is unbelievable with those. I think you have to use more cream with this brush because it's so dense. LOVE IT!!!!!

#94/100 reporting in here. I have the TGN knot and have been using this brush in my 3 brush rotation since May. When I first received it I thought the knot looked a bit small, but have found it is plenty large enough to do 3 passes and touch ups with lather left over. Soft tips, nice scrub and backbone, and the keyhole handle feels great in the hand. I look to enjoy this brush for many years. Thanks Rudy !

Which TGN knot is it precisely, by the way? I never managed to find out, but I'd love to use it in my first attempt at brusch restoration.

I believe these knots are 23-24mm diameter by 48mm high, fan shaped.
