Default In praise of Nancy Boy

Since picking up a tub of their Signature cream about two weeks ago I haven't used anything else. Great scent, lathers easily. Not much not to like.

Wait til you try their other products, every one of them is great. The only product I don't like is their aftershave, but that is because I prefer a splash.

I've used mine for a couple of days now, I have the Signature shaving cream.

I found it less than optimal used as a regular shaving cream, were you put a dollop in your bowl and whip up a nice lather by adding a fair bit of water. While it built a very fine lather, it lacked glide and just didn't feel right.

Now what worked for me was using quite a bit more cream in the bowl, shake out the brush pretty good, and just adding a very few drops of water and not really trying to build a traditional water, most of the lather now stayed in the brush, and had a thick butterlike texture. At this consistency it delivered very good glide and my face felt great after. Love the scent btw.

So for me it worked best used closer to it's intended use aka brushless.

The ASB was ok, I prefer splashes as well.

I heard it's best used for face lathering...

Great stuff, I have both the Signature and the Replenishing in rotation. Overall my favorite creams, gives great cushion and glide. The Replenishing also leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized.

Wow, it was simply amazing. Had my first shave with the Signature today. Face lathered for the first time too (have been bowl lathering otherwise). Worked great. Had great looking lather leftover. Smell is great when applied to the face.

Nancy Boy Creams are amazing. The shaving creams are top notch and a must try. Also, I find that Nancy Boy requires more raw product to get a good lather thank TOBS, Trumper, etc. Perhaps this is because it is advertised as brushless? In any event, these two are simply amazing performers. I use either my Shavemac D03 with my scuttle when home or my Tweezerman and a bowl when travelling. Superb performer.

Yep I took into account the comments I've heard here about people saying it requires more product. So I used quite a bit of product and got pretty good lather I'd say.

For what it's worth, I don't think it takes more product to get a good lather. Works just great, one of my favorite creams.

Nancy Boy should do a lime scent. I don't know why but I get this feeling if they did, they would perfect it.

For you real Nancy lovers (at least of the signature scent) grab yourself a pick of Mamabears Clear Skies soap and super lather the two. Holy Schnikies.

  14. Default Nancy Boy Shave Cream

    Hey guys,
Nancy boy shave cream is now parabens free. Has anyone used these products? Can you guys compare these products to the TOBS Jermyn Street?

@ tomantex...yes they are good and yes they are as good if not better then TOBS (but it's a YMMW thing).

i have the 2 original ones (signature & replenishing) and plan to order the full tubs soon, especially now that they are paraben free (if that concerns you or anyone).

heck, i had no idea what parabens were before starting wet shaving.

Agreed, I dip the tips of my brush into the cream and that's all I need.

YMMV you know, personally I didn't like the performance that much treating it like a normal cream.
