Hey guys. Been using Gillette products for years(currently using a fusion) and am sick of it. I began reading about DE razors, and just discovered this forum.

Looking forward to a new enjoyable shaving experience and learning from you guys.

    Hey mattymatt!

I do not have any gear yet. I noticed that I only had 5 fusion blades left, and decided that enough is enough- time to enjoy MY time- and I am slowly learning there is a lot more to shaving that my 42 y.o. Self thought!

Hey guys- am waiting for delivery of my DE89l- so excited! Can someone suggest a decent brush? There are so many brushes, pre/post shaving creams, shaving balms, sticks and AS- not sure where to begin.

    Thanks!

I have used my new razor (ej89l) 3 times so far- and it's definitely a different experience- I can hear the stubble as it is shaved off! I bought some witch hazel, Nivea asb and a styptic pencil at target. The 1st shave was ok, but not great. I showered and used a hot towel in shower. Only had edge shaving gel. No cuts but also not such a close shave either. To be honest, i think i was a little scared b/c never wet shaved before. I used a Gillette thin blade.

2nd shave- same set up. Much better shave. Went WTG, xtg ang atg. No cuts or nicks, but a little burn near the mustache area. Used witch hazel and asb. Felt pretty good

3rd shave-I ordered some supplies from a vendor that arrived- so i wS able to use some of the new toys. Started prep the same. After hot towel, Proraso pre. Decided to use a different blade- used a red personna which was inluded with my razor. Definately like the personna better. Smoother and less pulling. I tried for no stubble on mustache and under the chin. Had some razor burn on my mustache. Used alum and nivea asb and all good.

So 3 shaves down- no cuts (jinx) and tomorrow will be my 1st day using a brush. think I will try the Cella tomorrow as I really like the way it smells.

    Thanks for reading!
