88 Acura Integra. I blew my entire savings from my lifeguard and ski technician job that year, but it was a great investment. It was a fun drive excellent gas mileage and it took me to through high school, to college, and was my commuter car for three years after school.

A 1968 Pontiac Parisienne 2+2 Convertible. Over 18 feet long. Blue with a white roof. 327 motor, turbo 400 transmission. Very bad gas mileage, but such a great ride! I drove it a lot when I was in grade 11 and 12 and I thought it was awesome. Unfortunately it would have needed a lot of work to restore it properly, and so a couple years back I sold it to my dad. He has plans of fixing it, but I don't know if he'll ever get around to it.

Mine was a mid to late seventies vintage banana yellow coloured 1300cc Ford Escort. Had all sorts of problems that needed sorting out, but it was a bargain at £500.

The first car that was mine (as in I paid for it) was a 1999 Mercury Cougar, brand new off the dealer lot. I still have the car and its still in near new condition. I love the damn thing.

1966 VW Kombi camper. Ice box, you had to use ice if you wanted to keep something cold, pop top, luggage rack, fold out bed. It was great.

My first car was a 1968 Chevy Camaro, my folks surprised me with it, my uncle had found the car and it certainly needed tons of work. It was a father and son project, and my graduation present in 1988 was a 350 long block kit, that my Dad and I hopped up to the Nth degree with years of Hot Rod magazine articles. I learned a lot, and although never a show car, I certainly had to have one of the fastest cars in town at the time. Thankfully never got a ticket in the beast. Went away to school and my idiot cousin pesterd me and my mother to sell him the car, eventually finances for school forced the sale, but I gave him a great deal to boot. I'm still pissed to this day because dear old cousin thrashed the car, and broke man law code by not offering to sell the car back to me when he sold it before going into the service. I miss that car so much, but more I miss the weekends and evenings working on it with my Dad, and the unadulterated guy time that it entailed. My Dad was in his prime, and of course I had little responsibility, and big dreams for my future....

350 motor .60 over, Holley 750cfm carb, Mallory electronic ignition, Edelbrock performer manifold, Hooker headers, Competition Cams big cam, Muncie four speed with Hurst shifter, and 3:73 gears out back and 2.5 inch exhaust pipes with dual mufflers. My GF at the time heard me coming to pick her up a couple of blocks away.

    1985 Mercury Grand Marquis.

Leaving the parking lot of the Safeway, I backed into lamp post. Not even a scratch on my car.

1994 Camaro Z28 with a few mods. Bought it myself and was actually probably one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned until I blew up the engine Loved it so much that I had it rebuilt, only for the transmission to go shortly thereafter. Still miss that car.

1976 Red Camaro LT with Keystone mags and Firestone F-60s.

And an 8-track until I put in a Jensen cassette player three years later.

1973 VW beetle - primer gray and faded yellow.

    Had the 260 A/C.

That is 2 windows, 60 MPH.

August + Texas + Black vinyl seats = 2nd degree burns on back of legs.

I do not miss that one at all.

My first love was a 1966 Pontiac GTO. I bought it when I was 15 for $300. It was more car than I needed. It was fast and broken most of the time.

Ah, the year with the louvered rear lights. If I won the lottery, I would buy a 66 convertible.

1969 Chevy Nova 4 door. I was quite literally, my grandmothers car originally. I drove the crap out of it and it finally died with around 140k on it. Nostalgically I miss it a bit, but when I put the seat air conditioner on in the new ride, it makes me forget!

If I knew then what I know now, it'd still be on the road. Miss it!

1995 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition. Purchased with 198,000 miles on it and I had to hold the drivers side door shut via a bungy cord that attached to the handle of the passenger side door. Paid cash for it and drove that bad boy till the engine blew at the 260,000 mile mark.

Loved and hated that vehicle at the same time. Took me 3 summers worth of taco bell pay checks to save the $1,500 to buy it.

Seems silly now that I have more than the cost of that vehicle in fine silver tip brushes but at the time $1,500 was an amazing sum of money to me.

'48 Ford business coupe, $80, 1956. This is a blue "Deluxe" with mag wheels. Mine had no back seat at all, and a really bad black paint job.
