Treasure Map Scales on a Joseph Elliot's Rangoon blade

This "Rangoon" razor is one of my favorite shavers and I've been wanting to make some scales to match the exotic locale that its name implies.
While at a goodwill awhile ago I came across an old jewelry box that had an antique map on the lid. I brought it home and proceeded to butcher the poor thing with my scroll saw but I was left with one usable set of scales.

I coated the wood and map with an oil based sealer (Arm-R-Seal) and found a cool translucent gold acrylic that reminded me of pirate's gold.

Kudos to you on your creativity and craftsmanship ...

I'm not a fan of wood scales but that is really cool. Really looks vintage.

I have a thing for old maps so this REALLY looks awesome to me. Great job!!!
