My Gillette adjustability is wrong.

I just discovered and read the wiki blade gap table.

My Gillette adjustable has no blade gap whatsoever on the #1 setting, and according to the table it should be about .022".
According to the table, my frankenrazor, which the business end is of a Lord L6, should have a smaller gap than the Gillette on #9. My best guess is that if my Gillette went up to 13 or 14, it would be close to my frankenrazor. My wife's Weishi, seems like a 4 or 5 on the Gillette.

So all this time I've been spouting off about my Gillette, and maybe giving everyone the wrong impression, because my razor is different. And, maybe I've been too harsh on the Gillette, I just have a bad one..?

Is it that bad on both sides? If both sides are equal, the adjustment mechanism might be gunked and need a good soaking. If its only one side, the guard bar probably just needs tweaking, which you can find tips kn how to do by searching here.

Your razor might be over-clocked also. On your lowest setting, can you get a 1/4 lock down turn?
