    Default Soap/Cream Question?

I have read a lot about Parabens in the B&B forums since I joined and I want to stress that I am NOT trying to start a pro/con thread of this controversial topic. I tried doing some searching to see if anyone had compiled a list of Soaps/Creams that DO NOT have parabens in them. I was curious if such a list would be useful to put in the Wiki area for folks that would like to avoid lathering up with anything containing parabens? If this is something that doesn't belong in Wiki or if there is a better place for it that would be helpful as well. I simply do not know enough about the topic to put such a list together but it seems collectively the B&B members have more than enough knowledge to put together such a list. I am not trying to single out any product as being bad at all instead just allowing people to make an informed purchase of whatever product they chose. MODERATORS... If this is out of line in any way please delete my post and accept my most sincere apology.

    Thanks!

We could do that using a category, like the existing categories for rose, lavender, tallow, etc.

Unfortunately we do not have tools that would make it easy to search existing wiki pages for "(soap or cream) AND NOT *paraben", so the entries in the category would have to be compiled manually. But if folks want to list paraben-less products here, I can translate that into a new wiki category.

Thanks mblakele! Just based off the forums I have read I think there is more than enough knowledge on the topic to put a list together. I hope some of the folks that have commented in the multiple paraben forums will start posting. Being new to wet shaving I just don't have the knowledge to start such a list.

Being one of those who avoid parabens, I can tell you I have never, ever seen a hard soap that has parabens (they just are not needed with hard soaps.) OTOH, Omega & Proraso "croaps" do have them.

Do we want to include other non-soap/cream shave products in the list?
Pre de Provence, L'Occitane, Lucky Tiger, Speick, Captain's choice aftershaves are paraben-free, and as someone else pointed out, ALL Edwin Jagger products, soaps, creams, pre-shave, after-shaves are paraben free.
Brian - I think it would be totally inappropriate for me to even contemplate what I am thinking about.

This would be my suggestion also.

I wish I could explain it but you can read more about them at the below forums (there are more than the below but these will give you an idea)

After reading a little, this could be a contributor to so many who have reactions to certain creams and croaps. This may need to be in the newbie area to help people with irritation issues early into shaving. Just my $0.02.
