Where's the low cost? these seem like luxury

Old Spice Aftershave: $5.60
Old Spice Shaving Cream: $2.43
Omega brush: $10
Brut Musk EdT: $7.60

That's hardly breaking the bank :smile:

The scuttle and razor is the "luxury" part. But the whole shave was luxury indeed.

Now that I knew of our theme:

- shower with Duru soap;
- hot towel;
- Tabac soap face lathered with Mühle Sophist;
- 61 Gillette "Fat Boy" on 7, store brand Personna;
- CHH-Tobacco After Shave.

Two cuts, one of them actually quite noticeable, required Alumn and Witch Hazel.

While most ingredients show pretty good value for money, the brush sticks out (90 Euros/120-ish US$). The über-economic counterpart is the After shave; 125 ml for 1,95 Euros are a steal, and the scent is terrific! Should you be in Germany, make sure to grab some. It is sold at some grocery stores and certain drugstores. On top of that it gives excellent skin care.

  1. Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar
  2. Coffee: Locally roasted, fresh ground TN Blend w/ cream
  3. Lather: Speick cream - face lather
  4. Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super
  5. Razor: Merkur Classic (33C) & Rivolia OC
  6. Blade: Feather (1); 3 passes
  7. Post: Cold water rinse; Aqua Velva + Kiehl's Balm
A Feather shave-off has begun. I shaved the left side of my face with the Merkur and the right side with the Rivolia. I'll be giving a more detailed report in a dedicated thread, but the Feather has definitely provided the best shaves I've had from these razors, but improvement is still needed.

Shave Rating - Fair, but meh. God Bless!

Cream: CO Bigelow
Brush: Omega Boar 10290
A/S: Speick

My seven year old son joined todays shave with his own SOTD, he picked out the gear and arranged and shot the pic all by him self :)

Shaver: Rune
Pre-Shave: Hot towels
Brush: Simpson Chubby 1
Razor: Gotta 13/16
Honing Regimen: Chosera 1K - Norton 4/8K
Strop: 40/60 Neil Miller Linen/Kanayama Cordovan
Soap: Palmolive stick
After shave: Old Spice original
Results: At the Oslo meetup this weekend I got the opportunity to try the Norton 4/8K and inspired by the ongoing JaNorton I decided to stop at 8K, and I would not have any problem to live with this edge. The shave was close, comfortable and smooth :biggrin1:

Merkur Bakelite
Gillette "Spetznaz" blue 7'oclock blades - OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW IN 1992 MAC FONT

Tabac Shave Soap
Art of Shaving Silvertip
4711 Aftershave Splash

That hurt like Hell. The blade got butterknife blunt in the middle of the second pass. The 4711 is an excellent splash though, and took care of the monstrous razor burn.

A rescued Geo. Wostenholm, matching home made brush with 22mm finest, Christmas gifts from AOS, and Spanish leather. Not a pretty picture, but just having them do what they do best.
