I've been using my ARC Weber bulldog for a couple of weeks now and I love it! Very smooth and comfortable shave every time yet it will easily mow down a four-day beard. It feels extremely solid and should last a lifetime, this is a lot of razor for a very reasonable price. I can't think of a single thing I don't like about it.

Are you aware that the Feather AS D1 is Cast. As are Jet Turbine Blades. Investment casting can make extremely accurate parts.

Any further feedback on this? The DLC is the only one they have right now (and based on the photos, I like the look better than the ARC).

Edit: Well, I just went ahead and pulled the trigger on a DLC. I like the appearance more, and if the ARC was available I would probably have bought the DLC anyway, unless the ARC performed better.

I suspect that they are both largely gimmicks and the only noticeable difference will be in your mind.

I was just emailing Weber about possibly ordering the ARC. I currently have the DLC head. Ed at Weber said the only difference between the two heads is the appearance, whether you like the silver or black look. Otherwise they have the same design and perform the same. I like the black a lot. It's nice to have something so different looking from all the other basically pure silver/chrome razors.

I just finished going through my blade sampler pack with my Weber ARC Bulldog and am trying to decide if I want to continue trying a few more blades or if I should order bulk in a few of the blades that have worked best for me.
Here's what I've found that has worked the best:
Persona Red followed by Persona Blue then Feather

Are there any other blades I should try out with this razor?

Sharks have worked well for me in the weber, as well as Astras.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried Astra SPs and had a wonderfuly comfortable shave, but it was not very close. I'll have to look into sharks.

I've found that Feathers are nice, but one has to have a very gentle touch. The best blade I've found so far has been the hard to find Russian made, teflon coated Voskhod. The Voskhod gives a DFS almost without effort and a BBS with a little more attention to technique.

First post and I would like to share my positive experience with the Weber ARC.

I have been shaving with it a few weeks now and it turned out to be an instant favourite. It hits a sweet spot, feeling both very mild (as in no irritation at all) and at the same time very efficient (as in long lasting BBS). With Feathers or Astra superior blades, it gives me perfect results with an ease I yet have to reproduce with any of my other DE razors, including beloved old favourites like the slim, the Futur, and the Mergress.

I just shaved a few days with the Wilkinson Sword classic while traveling and found myself longing for the Weber. The Wilkinson is a really nice travel razor, light, so cheap that one doesn't have to grieve if it gets lost, and astonishingly good for the price, but the Weber is obviously in a completely different league.

What's the best way to clean an ARC head? I had a blade rust a bit and it stained the. Inside of the head. I tried soap and a toothbrush but it only helped a little.

would giving it a scrub with cillit bang, or some other bathroom (soapscum, limescale) product help?
