It would appear that Weber is still using better materials in the head design? Nothing wrong with stainless of course...but Weber does offer the ARC and DLC.

Only Bull Dog handles form now on.

I just gifted one of the longer handles with the ARC coated head. I guess it's a nicer gift than I thought.. Out of production pretty quick.. In my opinion the longer handle was not totally right anyway. I had to buff mine at the finial to debur it and flatten it out a bit. Mine was sharp and dug into a brass head I first used it on. After I smoothed it out it's just fine now.

Their Bull Dog handles are pretty awesome and priced right. So, it's probably good they are focusing on only making them from now on.

Amazing how fast they sold out of the ARC and original longer handles.

Until Tradere has a full razor available, I'm recommending Weber to anyone who asks me about where to buy a 'New' unused DE razor. I think the Bull Dog is a great handle and I've been using the DLC head for a few weeks now. Mine looks a little gray from soap scum, but is really a joy to use. I'm sure some scrubbing bubbles would bring the black finish back to life, but I haven't bothered.

Just an FYI. I wanted everyone who got the original longer handle to feel special after seeing they do not plan on making more..

In the past few weeks I shaved three times with other razors and keep going back to the Weber DLC on the Bull Dog handle. They certainly hit the sweet spot for me with their razor head design. I shower shave half awake and can get BBS just about every day with many different blades.

Nice to see a Made in USA product succeed!!
Is the 'bulldog handle' generic or borrowed from iKon?

I don't know. I think the question is splitting hairs.

I've seen more than one vendor use the term. I think iKon and BRW and Weber use the term.

Ahhhh the minutia of DE shaving.

I was only interested if it was a term for a certain type of handle!!

It's kind of become a slightly generic term for a short, fat, heavy handle with strong checkering.

They are all borrowing from the original (photo by Achim).

Thanks. I don't know how I was missing this.

And for what's it worth, I think the $150 asking price for a custom "made in the good 'ol USA" all stainless steel product is fantastic -- and I am on the waiting list for one.

If I was drinking Gillette's kool-aid and using the Proglide, that $150 would only buy me a year's worth of their blades.

    It's all about perspective...

  9. Default Update in Webber Customer Service.

Got My replacement Razor cap back today, less then a week from when i sent mine and already got mine back today. ED at weber is great, Customer service how it should be.

Now i can use my Weber Bulldog handle with my ARC cap, screws on Perfectly Seems the threads on the first razor cap were incomplete and not fully threaded all the way, The bottom plate was not an issue , just the threads on the the razor plate head.

Could not wait to shave with it, Did a 3 pass WTG, XTG OXTG, used and Astra SP, and RazorRock Caprician Lemon Soap, BBS, No nicks no irritation, Gotta Love this Razor because its Loving me Back and then some :o)

I'll say it again, if you cant afford a Feather AS D-1, this Weber ARC Razor is the next best thing , without the Learning curve the feather Requires, and its also very difficult to get cut with the Weber, Also pick up that BullDog handle if you can, you wont regret :o)

I ordered my DLC with the Bulldog handle today, to replace my Gillette tech that I started wet shaving with. I can't wait!

That's the way it looked to me, really glad that you were able to get a resolution to your issue and that you are enjoying the way the razor works for you.

I have one of the Ikon Bulldog handles and can concur that the extra heft, grip and thickness really help me to use a razor. Sounds like a good combination to me, I may just have to buy one when Weber have some more ARC heads in stock.

My new comb arrived the other day, and I sent Weber back the old one, which had that chip in it that I mentioned.

Pretty happy with both the razor and the service.

It IS a good price, but only 1/3 as good at 55 dollars.... hahahaa

Finally got my Weber DLC/Classic and was able to use it today with a Bluebird blade. Excellent razor - good feel - excellent feedback. End result was a 3 pass BBS shave. It's a very nice all-around razor - built to last. Not sure that it offers anything above and beyond my current stable - but it's a very nice product overall. Even though I purchased it "pre-owned" it still cost as much as my Gillette Red Tip, Gillette NEW OC and Gillette Fat Handle Tech Triangle slot combined. I'm pretty sure the 3 Gillettes were the "smarter" money; thankfully I didn't have to choose "either/or" and just bought them all.

Does anyone have any feedback on the Weber ARC vs DLC head coatings?

I kind of like the look of the ARC heads and was wondering how users found it.

Of course I wonder if they are going to have stock of the ARC at any time in the future?

I only have the DLC so I can not comment between the two, but it appears that the ARC are back in stock now. I would have ordered the ARC if they were in stock when I bought my Weber, but I kind of like the black on SS look. I think it looks much nicer in person than on the photos.

Noticing the ARC heads are back in stock, I ordered one and it was shipped just a few hours later.

Just received my Weber razor today. I wasn't really sure what to expect as it was a prize from this years fundraiser. I was surprised to see that it shipped direct from Weber. :-) it was packaged very well. I have the ARC version. I have only used a Merkur 23c and Edwin Jagger DE89L so far. I have the most experience with the Merkur as I shaved with it for about 2 months. I only have 2 shaves on the EJ so far.

My Weber ARC was shipped yesterday, hopefully it'll make it to the UK in a week or so. I'm looking forward to trying it out!

I see Weber is only Advertising The BullDog Handle Razor and no longer is showing the Longer Handle anymore? Does this mean that the longer handle isn't going to be on the market anymore? if not he needs to bring in a nice XL Bull dog handle, that would be awesome, Does anyone know if the XL Bulldog handle is in the works ?

    From the Weber FAQ:

    Q. Are you still selling classic handles and what about different handle options?

    A. We have transitioned to only offering the bulldog style handle with the DLC heads. If we do offer additional styles of handles or heads, we will provide that information on our Twitter page. Please follow us if you are interested in new product offerings.
