Mine arrived today. It only took 4 working days to cross the pond. I got one with wooden scales.

Marked "Moshy Bros, New-York, made in Germany" and "720" on the other side

Did 1 WTG pass with it today. Right side with my right hand is fine. Left hand doesn't have a clue, almost like it isn't attached to me.

I shave both sides of my face with my right hand. You don't have to use both hands.

I was pretty hung up on this when I first started, but I found it to be much easier (in my case) to use one hand as well. It was a little unnerving at first to take a stroke without being able to watch, but as long you're not going crazy with the angle, I've found a straight isn't as dangerous as my wife seems to believe.

ETA: Ha! Just noticed it's from the man himself. Had a great time on our anniversary and the Torrey shaved like a dream. Thanks again!

nice little smile on that guy.
Me to wife (truth!): "Does she really need all these Barbie dolls? You only need two to have a conversation. Why so many?"
Wife, not skipping a beat: "It's kinda like your straight razors..."

Here are a few pictures of mine, which I received as a birthday present! I'm happy because I would have asked for black scales, but didn't have a chance, but that's what I got anyhow. I've shaved with it a few times now (wtg oncheeks only - I'm a slow romancer) and I'm enjoying it more as my technique improves a bit. I've been surprised at how clean it shaves in one wtg pass, despite my likely awful technique. Can't wait to shave every day now.

I decided to be really classy and take the photos with my computer keyboard in the background.

BTW, the blade may look a bit odd as it has some oil on it.

If anybody knows anything about this brand, or why it is No. 35, I would love to know!

    Edit:

Just learned from wikipedia that "No. 35" is the ID# of the Turkish secret agent who used this very blade to assassinate the CEO of Arko's largest competitor. Just thought I'd pass that along.

Just got here today! Its a John Engstrom Jr. razor from 1920-1921 as far as I can find out. It has some rust issues under the "pearl" on the tang and some watermarks, but other than that it seems in great nick!

Interesting thread - I'm checking it to see if any of the straights I sent Larry under his 'Give One, Get One Honed' deal turn up...they were all in decent shape, just not my first preferences.
