Anonymousoul, Can you confirm which set this is? There's a starter kit which has the items you've described in the amounts you've described, and there's the travel kit which has larger quantities of these products. I assume this is from the starter kit based on your amounts, but the starter kit description doesn't say anything about being FAA approved, which is why I'm confused.

Also, does the brush come with the kit or has that been taken out of the set?

It is the starter kit with no brush. I believe the travel is double the amounts. When I purchased the larger kit with full size products the store added them in as extras. They are TSA approved due to the plastic containers and amount of product in the bottles so you don't have to check them. Sorry about the confusion. The explanation is at www.tsa.gov/311
