Two whiskey sours with Evan Williams Black Label and fresh squeezed lemon. Perfect summer evening tipple.

Just found out that it's been general listed at the LCBO (Ontario's government-controlled liquor stores), so I'm currently enjoying my last (for now!) bottle of Charlevoix Dominus Vobiscum Lupulus. It combines some of my favourite beer styles (Belgian tripels and IPAs) and does so with such grace... lots of Belgian yeast character with a citrus/herbal hop profile, and surprisingly dry! I'll be gladly picking up a few more of these to stock my fridge for special occasions. $12 is alot for a bottle of beer, but when it's 750 mL and a dangerously drinkable 10%, it is alot more feasible when considered alongside decent bottles of wine.

Somewhat after the fact, but when I was in the home country I sat down with a 50 ml bottle of Laphroaig for the first time.
I think I'd bought it for my father many years back as a taste sampler but he never drank it.
Anyway....I knew I was going in peaty but was not quite prepared for the full peat onslaught. Rather enjoyed it by the end of the glass.
    Neat, no water, no rocks.

    Knob Creek Rye.

I found this rye to be a little bland compared to others (my favorites are Willett's Single Barrel, Templeton, Russell's Reserve, and Sazerac. For value, nothing can touch Rittenhouse BIB, so that's my regular). There is a citrus-y note that I don't get from any other rye, and the spicy tones were missing. It was a nice drink, just didn't stand out.

A couple of strong tequila screwdrivers to wash away a Monday and hopefully to put me to sleep.

For those who enjoy the occasional mixed drink, everyday tequila makes an outstanding screwdriver, far better than vodka imo. Mix a healthy amount of mixing tequila (I like Jose Cuervo) with the orange juice of your choice, over ice. Simple but delicious (and will sneak up on you).

    Sipping on Macallan 12 yr.

The package store had them on sale since they no longer will be carrying it so I was able to pick up a botlle for $40. A pretty nice deal if I don't say so myself.

Spent the weekend on the Oregon Coast, enjoyed the following

The Vitis Ridge is a port, my first time trying it. I was pleasantly surprised and would love to get some more.

I just finished a glass of Maker's Mark, it was a rough day and I may have a second.
